For the talking heads that were making fun of Sherrone Moore... put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Blows me away that toxic masculinity is par for the course at ESPN. What are we, on a playground in 5th grade? Men can cry. Pussies hold their tears back because they’re afraid of looking weak. Not so tough in reality. When real toughness was shown all day…just..pathetic people.
November 15th, 2023 at 5:55 AM ^
Its amazing to me how many of these fuckwads think he was crying for no reason. Moore was plucked from the absolute obscurity of CMU by Harbaugh. He was elevated to O line coach, and then OC in quick succession. He was then personally chosen to lead the number 3 team in the country in its biggest game of the year by a man under fire as he was identified as THE leader of men on the coaching staff. Over men with more experience and longer tenures on the staff including the head coach’s own son. All while being the only offensive line/OC in the country. A role (OC) that is almost never held by a black man, let alone a 37 year-old black man. Harbaugh has put him in a position to be a head coach of a major program next year, possibly even Michigan’s next head coach. How many black head coaches are there? Let alone at major programs? Moore understood the magnitude of being selected to lead this team over everyone else and was overjoyed to get the W for guys when their backs were against the wall. I can’t figure out why no one in the media took any time to think about this beyond the tears themselves. Sure shit ass people like Dakich but I expected better from someone like Pablo Torre who I thought understood the importance of inclusivity/representation.

I struggle to find a more deceitful and perhaps even corrupt institution in this country than the media - both news and sports. I’ve just started to tune them out entirely.
November 15th, 2023 at 7:46 AM ^
I’m going to guess 100% of people at ESPN and 95% at all other media organizations do not know this. Excellent post.

Very disappointed in Pablo. The shadow lengthens at ESPN.
November 15th, 2023 at 8:13 AM ^
I actually tried to find an email for Pablo after seeing him on Around the Horn (which I was only watching for the Michigan takes). I am not on social media so I didn't make it far but I was more disappointed in his take than anyone else's thus far because of who he is and what he typically stands for.
November 15th, 2023 at 9:42 AM ^
I have looked for many emails in the past so that I can write a very angry email about someone's terrible sports take. No one publicizes an email anymore. If you want to contact a person in the media, you have to be on Xwitter. Period. It's weird.

I can't count the number of assholes on youtube comments that made fun of Moore for that. They've clearly never experienced anything meaningful in their life.
Imagine being OC at Michigan (which is already a demanding job) and in 48 hours not only Harbaugh gets screwed over, but the entire team. All the fingers are pointed at you and you don't have time to process anything thats going on while you're hours away from the teams biggest game of the season in a hostile environment. The entire country thinks Michigan cheated and that only adds to the pressure of winning the game. They win the game and 1000lb weight is lifted off Moores back and he's proud of everyone that kept their shit together for that game. Fuck yeah he's going to be emotional, and anyone that makes fun of him or anyone else for that can eat a bag of dicks.
November 15th, 2023 at 9:22 AM ^
If my coach isn't passionate enough to release tears in that situation, I don't want him. Never, ever mistake tears for weakness.
November 15th, 2023 at 10:27 AM ^
Idk that ppl laughing at a grown man for melting down in front of the world is a good gauge for if they've had meaningful moments in their lives. I found it fucking embarrassing. And I say that as someone who's faced more adversity than you can shake a stick at.

Spot on
November 15th, 2023 at 10:18 AM ^
Shedding a tear or two is one thing. Shoulders heaving, lip quivering, ugly crying is a whole different thing. Wild how many of our fans can't differentiate between the two.
As a future HC candidate, it makes him look overly emotional under duress. No thanks.
If this was any other school we'd be having a field day on his ass. He'd be a gif, a meme, and everything in between. Seems obvious. Getting mighty cultish as of late.
November 15th, 2023 at 11:48 AM ^
Why pretend he was breaking down and frozen on the sideline during the game? Sheesh. Your line of thinking is toxic masculinity at its finest. Dude released some pressure AFTER the game ended. Most logical people recognize that. Others criticize for clicks. Seems unfair to rail on Moore for not repressing emotion.

As difficult as it has been i stopped watching ESPN programming as much as i possible can. I turned off notifications on my iphone and will not click on their content.....so many other outlets to get what i need for updates and info. I hope that Michigan treats them the same way if Gameday wants to come to AA on 11/25. I'm all Big Noon from here on out.....

Sam and Al Borges did a nice job talking about Sherrone on Michigan Insider this week.
Al spent some time discussing all that Sherrone had to do during the game: head coach, calling the offense, and coaching the line, all simultaneously. In addition to tears of joy and thankfulness for JH and for the win, Al pointed out Sherrone also had to have just had a great sense of relief.
Moore had to stay strong for everyone, then when the work was done, after giving everything he had, he needed to have a moment.
That's more than okay.

I doubt we win it 3x in a row but not sure who on that list is clearly better
November 15th, 2023 at 1:48 AM ^
Pretty sure none of them rushed for an entire half on the top run defense in the country. Hopefully that made the case to at least be a finalist again.
November 15th, 2023 at 2:04 AM ^
Notre Dame has a strong O-line. If Hartman wasn't a choke artist, that line would've been responsible for a victory over OSU (great rushing avg and zero sacks).
November 15th, 2023 at 3:42 AM ^
Well, Louisville dominated ND which isn't the end of the world but usually the winner doesn’t have games like that.
Plus, ND just isn't thst good at football.
I'd say Oregon.
November 15th, 2023 at 8:23 AM ^
Maybe Oregon, if you define an offensive line as consisting of 5 lineman - and possibly a tight end.
But Michigan deserves some special recognition for playing an offensive line that consisted of -- was it 6 offensive lineman and 2 tight ends (plus Loveland)? or 5 offensive lineman and 3 tight ends? Best in the country.

7 OL, 2TE;
If that doesn't give a Michigan fan an erection, not much will.
November 15th, 2023 at 3:27 AM ^
Why? We have the best line…again…again.
November 15th, 2023 at 2:01 AM ^
You know who’s not on there? Any other fucking big ten teams! They should get a better team!
November 15th, 2023 at 2:17 AM ^
Which ones in the list are the best? Any O line aficionados here watch a bunch of these teams?
November 15th, 2023 at 2:30 AM ^
Interesting that every single one of the top 7 CFP ranked teams is on that list... except one soft team.
November 15th, 2023 at 7:29 AM ^
They'll be handing the trophy to Michigan after the ohio game.

Go, line!
Go, Blue!

OMG - not again.
This Joe Moore Award thing has been going on for three (3) years.
I can't imagine the amount of paperwork required - then provide supporting evidence - present the case for the team.
It would seem like a lot of video evidence of game action is needed. Maybe there are other B1G teams who have some electronically recorded video of Michigan's OL in action. There was even a thread about a PSU fan / analyst / blogger who broke down Michigan's OL and PSU's missed assignment from this past weekend.
Sincerely, congratulations to the OL. They have been tremendous and, IMO, a big reason for Michigan's success.
It's not lost on me that Michigan is the only B1G team that's reached the semi-finals.
My fingers are crossed for a three-peat.
Go Blue!

It's crazy not seeing Alabama on such a list. I will be very surprised if the good guys win it again this year. However, if they road-grade another "spectacular" defense in AA next week...things could change.
November 15th, 2023 at 8:47 AM ^
Wait, I thought they renamed it the Sherrone Moore Trophy after Michigan's back-to-back wins.
November 15th, 2023 at 8:57 AM ^
Did the Penn State game (running the ball so many times) sway the panelists?
November 15th, 2023 at 8:58 AM ^
A bit of a tangent. Certain media members were "making fun" of Michigan's play calling against PSU - specifically, the 32+ consecutive run plays.
Joel Klatt used a great phrase to describe those who denigrated Michigan's strategy and Moore's play calling. The phrase was - "Absurd and Clownish" - this was directed to the detractors who felt Michigan should have thrown more, etc.
The point Klatt was making is - it's working. Michigan is attacking. Penn State can't stop it. SO, why change. It took a lot of football intelligence to call those plays - and, discipline by the O to execute it.
"Absurd and Clownish" - is such a good description for many media types.
Go Blue!
November 15th, 2023 at 12:26 PM ^
keeping Corum and Edwards fresh allowed them to pound PSU into submission by running the ball. Even before the suspension that was going to be a statement game. "You have the #1 rush defense? Okay cool, watch this"
November 15th, 2023 at 9:04 AM ^
Again? No way. Signs.
November 15th, 2023 at 9:42 AM ^
I don't want to be "the fly in the ointment" - but, it seems quite apparent that Michigan has noticed the signs of our opponents - and, this has been going on for some time - my view is - since the '21 season.
People don't reference the '21 season very much. I think there are three signs that Michigan has clearly stolen from our opponents. Electronic evidence is only available for one of those three and I'll share it below.
With all this news, it makes me wonder - what has Michigan done which has resulted in opponents - "being out of position", "making a bad read / adjustment", and "missing tackles".
These signs were: "Don't tackle Haskins (#25)", and "Don't tackle Corum (#2)" - and "Don't tackle Edwards (#7)".
November 15th, 2023 at 9:26 AM ^
This is nice and all, but we've already won the Sherrone Moore award.
November 15th, 2023 at 10:23 AM ^
Wait - why isn't OSU on this list? I was told they're a TUFF team - one of the TUFFEST around!
November 15th, 2023 at 10:55 AM ^
How can one have 12 semifinalists? I sure hope the lads win the award again this year.
November 15th, 2023 at 11:20 AM ^
No chance we win 3 in a row, not because we don't have a great line that deserves it, but because of the scandal and the general sense of "fairness" by spreading awards around. Doesn't matter. Our lines are solid, especially that D line.

Washington won it.
