Mabel speaks the truth. We should listen to her.
In 1989 we won the Rose Bowl and the national championshiip in basketball. Unfortunately that was commemorated with a t-shirt misplacing the apostrophe in weren't.

I realize now that this list is 'all-time' and not '2014'. Michigan is arguably at the top of this list. If the football team were 10-2 today we would all be all about this list. (Fire Hoke Fire Brandon).
Football is down now, but the list isn't ridiculous.
If this were a one year list, let's take the 1988-1989 school year. Rose Bowl champs and NCAA title. Leroy and Rumeal. Rice and Griese.

Okay, having read through this thread now, I have no doubt that it peaks with the white noise / nipple-level cubicle conversation at the beginning. I didn't think it would when I was in that section, but the thread definitely doesn't go uphill from there.

May be next time they will rank Detroit as America's best city to live.

Make the list football + basketball + hockey and our case is even stronger. Love it.

Michigan is the only program to have NC's in the four major sports: Football, Basketball, Hockey, and Baseball.
If Basketball gets another NC, we'll have multiple NCs in each one of those sports.

Three Big Ten teams in the top five seems a bit odd, but Florida is the only SEC team that belongs, and UCLA from the PAC. None of the ACC teams that are great at basketball have football teams that amount to much. You might be able to make the case for Oklahoma out of the Big 8 / Big 12 or Notre Dame as an independent, but neither of those schools has a basketball program at the level of the other teams.

it's only painful when you compare to Indiana....
and somewhat painful vs. Purdue, OSU, and even Illinois.

I have it on good authority that no one at SI has watched football since 2007.
