Michigan loses to NY Mets in Exhibition Game
They lose 8 to 1. As should be expected, it wasn't much of a contest. Michigan had one extra base hit, and just two hits after the 3rd inning. I am sure it was an awesome experience being around big leaguers, however, as the Mets sent out what nearly amounts to their opening day lineup, sans the injured Reyes and Beltran. UNACCEPTABLE
I blame the Freep.
when my oatmeal is too thin, so I'm definitely gonna blame them for this.
Is it normal for the Mets to roll out the A-Team for this game? Or only after we almost beat them a few years back?
Gotta say, though, I like this game. Great experience for the guys for sure.
Yeah, but they only play about half the game. In the 4-4 tie a few years ago, it was the same thing. The starters play the first 3-5 innings. Pitchers rotate pretty regularly. It's just a spring training game for them. Get a bunch of guys work in, etc.

I wish Billy Wagner were still there.

I think Billy Wagner needs to pitch against the Buckeyes. Let them get fastballs thrown at their ear-holes! I like our players!
I was at the game where he threw a hissy fit about our players getting into the game and him wanting to just "warm up".
We tied them 4-4 and almost won if it weren't for a final inning comeback by the Mets.
Edit: I see that you must have been there or heard about it (i just saw the comment above).
I still liked that he flipped out about that.
Some might call me an overzealous Michigan baseball fan. Insane zealotry.

to put on some pads and see how they do against our football team.
Q: How many Mets does it take to do the laundry?
A: Just one, unless there's folding, in which case the whole team shows up.
