Did Wheatley get away with an illegal pick on Butt's TD out of the "train" formation (at 2:26)?

Why did we fake the punt?
I don't agree with it . Thoughts?
October 23rd, 2016 at 3:09 PM ^
I didn't like it. I mean it would've worked had the snap not been dropped, but still I'd rather keep it in the closet for a better opponent. Just e-pinion

Fine line between being overly competitive and classless?
I've coached for 20 years and understand wanting to improve and playing for an entire game, but never disrespect the opponent!
Plus, it may have kept the shutout had we punted.
Correct me, if I'm wrong.
October 23rd, 2016 at 3:17 PM ^
To say what is disrespect and what is simply trying different plays in certain scenarios ("take what the opponent gives you"). I like to think that Harbaugh doesn't do things simply to disrespect opponents, but to practice and get better. That's not to say they're mutually exclusive...

Maybe a little karma then. The fake failed and Illinois capitalized. Only 8 points in what was probably going to be a shutout.
October 23rd, 2016 at 3:29 PM ^
Is there vs every opponent. Illinois specific thing.
October 23rd, 2016 at 3:48 PM ^
It was about as standard a fake punt as you'll see--if a team needs that on tape to figure it out, they've obviously never been coached. There was no competitive advantage lost from here on out running that thing.

Thanks!
We win 41-8, and my takeaway is "hmm Illinois has a pulse." Spoiled

I'm going to say some radical stuff here: this team, at its current rate of improvement, may end up being the best Michigan team I have had the pleasure of watching. There are zero areas I am uncomfortable with, and each week, this team is getting better. Scary thought, but I believe it.
October 23rd, 2016 at 3:03 PM ^
That 8 on the scoreboard for Illinois will not sit well with the team.
Seriously. That should've been a shutout.

If Delano Hill got one finger on the ball, it would've been a shut out. Oh well. Next week, a shut out would be so joyous.

That train formation man... how long before we start seeing copy cats? I can't believe nobody has ever thought of that.
October 23rd, 2016 at 3:23 PM ^
I could see it being used on multiple occasions in a key drive as a hybrid to the hurry up mentality (i.e. Keeping the defense off balance by not giving them time to setup) and a clock control offense. But mostly, with so many weapons, they can come out and of the train a couple of times in a row against a young defense like osu, it won't allow them to matchup or get set right.

down the middle between 4 defenders was pretty. Wow.

Every week my concerns are mitigated. Speight looked downright dialed in

Thanks. Higdon looks even faster today. All the backs did well. Speight looked great. Defense was tremendous. Can't wait for next Saturday.

Thankx for the highlights. Anybody can do it but it takes the time, effort, and EUKTMK actually generate the highlight videos for our mutual benefit.
