Michigan Hockey PSA: MSU playoff tickets available for all 3 games

Submitted by MaineGoBlue on March 6th, 2020 at 6:55 AM

All games still have lots of tickets, get yours today and help fill up Yost. 7pm tonight and tomorrow 6pm Sunday.

I hope the athletic department gives the unsold tickets to students, if not it looks like we’re going to lack any sort of home ice advantage.

Spring break may preclude many students from a free ticket give away - - maybe the Sunday game ( if necessary).  Perhaps the local hockey leagues or scouting packs. When I was a Cub Scout leader I welcomed all free events (especially in the grey of winter).

I'm sure there will be unsold tickets because of the quick turnaround, but a weekend postseason matchup against MSU? You would think that fans from both sides would come to that.

Tickets are $30, which seems a little pricey.

I should clarify - $30 isn't crazy expensive by any means. But a decent price if there are no students due to Spring Break. Limited students means you just have that many more tickets to sell. You would think they would offer tickets for $20 and more fans would come.

Got tickets for game 1 tonight but can’t attend game 2 because of a family function during the day.

Hopefully we get the sweep again so Sunday won’t be a thing.

See you there tonight - the ticket prices are what they normally charge for an endzone seat for a conference game.

They've had some trouble in the past selling the tickets but it will be mostly full and way better than having the game at JLA where no one showed up.

FYS was selling tickets for Munn before they found out where they were going.  I wonder how many tickets they sold.

Free tickets are unlikely because the conference collects all revenue for playoff tickets. So if they give away 1000 "free" tickets, the conference still wants the $30,000 in ticket revenue for them.

Should also add the ticket price is set by the conference, usually based around what the school charges for a normal game.

And if you think Michigan is going to be bad, check out what Minnesota draws this weekend if you can find the game on Fox Sports 16 or whatever it's on.
