I'm a good guy. Really am. I just write as more of a side hobby. I mostly draw. No I don't draw dirty stuff. I only draw clean stuff. Also from writing I write clean stuff. I'm a good Christian.

Faux did you not see the headlines today? Fauci/cdc suggest second wave is not inevitable...stay tuned...we may all be doomed starting tomorrow. I suppose if this whole Covid thing doesn't work out, weatherman is a good vocational shift.

There was a key caveat about actually being proactive to prevent the second wave.

Fauci also said there may not be a so-called second wave of Covid-19 cases as some health experts are predicting.

“It is not inevitable that you will have a so-called ‘second wave’ in the fall or even a massive increase if you approach it in the proper way,” he said.

He advised Americans to follow social distancing recommendations and to continue wearing masks in public, among other CDC guidelines.

There is growing evidence about how important face masks are:

‘We conclude that wearing a face mask in public corresponds to the most effective means to prevent inter-human transmission.

"This inexpensive practice, in conjunction with social distancingand other procedures, is the most likely opportunity to stop the COVID-19 pandemic‘

I don't wear a mask, but not because of any of those things you mention.  Several broken noses in HS wrestling makes it so I can barley breathe out of my nose as it is. I have never been able to cover my face in my adult life without feeling light headed, even on the coldest of days (One of the reasons I gave up skiing).

I rarely leave my house anyway, but when I have had no choice, I have been yelled at repeatedly even though I make sure to stay as far away from people as possible.  I'm not saying the masks are overkill by any means, however, no one knows the others situation.

Last week on a much needed grocery story run I turned down an aisle and a man was with his wife about half way down.  I stopped at the opening of the aisle and waited for them to finish getting what they were looking at.  When he looked up at me and saw me without a mask he started yelling profanities at me from about 15 feet away.  Then started striding at me threatening to kick my ass if I didn't leave (Keep in mind in my state masks are recommended but not mandatory).  I remained calm and asked him if he really wanted to go to jail for assault today?

A manager finally came and calmed things down.  I am a pretty calm individual, and kept my cool in this situation as well, but it is getting harder to keep calm.  My family and I have to eat, and there isn't any grocery delivery in the rural area that I live in.

The point is that everyone's situation is different and is it worth threatening bodily harm to someone when you don't know the situation?

Doubt any University is going to commit to 100% on campus instruction, I know a lot are looking at 25-50% on campus and the rest remote learning. One person per room in dorms. Prepackaged meals or order online and pickup at a scheduled time instead of typical dining centers.

Also football is so important, it wouldn't shock me if every University (or than Ivys) taught at least a handful of classes (let's say 1 per lecture space, per day) just so they can bring football back and say some of the general student body is back and on campus learning is happening. Especially specialized programs with smaller numbers/labs.

Not to be a cynic, but room and board from the mass student body is more important than any athletic income to the larger university because it is paid more in full than the basic tuition. School will be “open” just to fill the dorms and serve meals so they do not miss out on this all important revenue stream even if the majority of classes are remote.

Schlissel seems to be waiting til the end of the month to release the plan they'll commit to for the year. He sent an email to students and staff saying as much.

Also heard Doug Karsch briefly on the radio say that he has a son who is an incoming freshman at EMU. They have greatly reduced room and board costs and promised a single room to anyone who wants one.

Update dated June12:

https://coronavirus.umich.edu/

‘The University of Michigan is taking initial steps to plan for a return to on-campus operations, while adhering to evolving public-health-informed measures put in place by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reopening of the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses will happen gradually as health and safety conditions allow.

President Mark Schlissel says he is “cautiously optimistic” the university will be able to deliver “as much in-person instruction as possible” during the fall semester, but many questions remain about how that will be accomplished.‘
