Michigan defense holds the key to this season.
They will be better simply because of Don Brown and his scheme. If they want to live up to the hype, as far as national championships go; they will need to become much more violent than last season.
If this defense can learn to use hard hitting to create an intimidation factor, they can win it all.
If the hitting is not improved, they will be better, but not championship caliber.
The '97 defense had a twelveth man. Intimidation. They hit at every opportunity.
'Punishing' should be the adjective of choice.
Go Blue.

This is my first time seeing this picture, and for some reason, I am not the least bit surprised by it. It was almost expected.

Once upon a time Michigan outscored it's opponents 550 to ZIP over an entire season. Harbaugh says if our dreams aren't big enough to laugh at we're not dreaming big enough. I'm going to assume we're going to tie or break that record until proven otherwise. Well, I mean the scoreless part anyway. Although actually, with 15 games, if the run blocking makes the same leap they made in pass blocking last year, and if Smith runs like he did in the bowl, regardless of the other backs, and qb play is at least average, 37 points a game isn't out of the question! Of course in reality, the scoring record is infinitely more attainable than 15 shutouts! haha. But fuck it! Break the whole record!!! Woo! #BigDreams
