Michigan Bars in Dayton Ohio
Good afternoon everyone!
I moved to Dayton just over a year ago, and haven't been able to find a place where Michigan fans gather to watch games. I did a little research, but the last post I found on the topic was from back in 2015.
So, are there any good Michigan friendly bars in the area? If so, is anyone going out to watch the game tonight?
Thanks!
I'd be interested to know of any as well though
I hope this goes OK for you. I don't live near Dayton so I can't help you. I'm sure that within the hour someone will respond in a real "dickish" way.
The fact that he lives in Dayton is punishment enough.
Though I regret that I have only one neg to give for starting a "Michigan Bar.." thread.
I mean...call me crazy...but you could just NOT click on the link.
You're crazy
You're crazy. But wise beyond your point total. Stick around long enough and you'll know our little secrets.
I shall be guided by your wisdom. Though I must beg your patience, as I'm sure to err on my journey to your level of expertise.
I would suggest trying the U of M Club - Dayton and going to their facebook page. There is also an email contact on the main page, or you could message the FB, or you could see if they have somewhere they normally meet for games and guess at where it would be tonight.

This is normally a good strategy for "Michigan bar in ____________ for _________" questions.
Thank you for your help!
Definitely -- hope either this or some other method leads you to finding a great spot for the game tonight.
EDIT:
There is also a "Michigan Bar Locator" tab under "MGoBoard" above that occassionally gets updated in the comments. This post is from roughly 3.5 years ago, but it may still hold true:
I don’t believe it...I’ve been there and know quite a few OSU fans who frequent this location...
lol it's ohio....
Maybe they got the idea for the tavern's name from the Michigan Marching Band at The Big House or Yost:
if not, at least you'll get a Bullwinkle "fix" until the first game this fall.
Depending on where you are around Dayton (big difference between, say, Springfield and Springboro) you might also be interested in checking out the Cincinnati Spirit Group. Their watch party is at Kitty's downtown (and is definitely happening for this game):
Kitty's Sports Grill
218 W 3rd St.
Cincinnati, OH 45202
Does this hold true for football as well?
It did this past season, but I think this is the first year that they've been there. It definitely floats around from year to year.
It's at 4716 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, 45440. Great beers. Owner is a huge UM fan & has a big UM flag behind the bar.
Go Blue!
This is right around the corner from me. So is Town and Country B-Dubs. I'll probably check them both out.

Less than 10 minutes from my house...tempting...
Yeah it is about 10 away from me as well. I'm thinking I might swing by to check it out.
10 minutes from everywhere!
... its about 10 min from my place as well
/Dayton do you guys live in? I’m in Patterson Park...Stan’s>>>Bill’s
It may not be a "Michigan" bar but the last time I watched them play in the sweet 16 there we went on to the finals. At the time there were a lot of Michigan fans in there. There are actually lots of fans around here. (Springboro) I get multiple "Go Blue"(s) went I'm out and about wearing the colors. So that is where I will be watching. That bar in Kettering sounds cool also.
I normally go watch Michigan sports at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Beavercreek.
a comfortable seat in my house to watch the game? I’m thinking the sofa, but do I really need that much space? My Lazy Boy seems attractive, but it’s further away from a side table for my beer. Any help you can offer would be appreciated!
Looking at the Alumni club in Dayton's website and Facebook page, they seem to hold their basketball and football watching events at Flyboy Deli in Oakwood. I have no idea what or where that is, but it seems like it's the place to be for U of M fans.
TJ Chumps in Englewood tends to be Michigan friendly.
It's a real nice way,
to spend the day,
in Dayton, Ohio,
On a lazy March evening with the Wolverines winning by three.
I’ve lived here for over 20 yrs now (dad was stationed at Wright Patt and then retired)...while there will probably be plenty of UM fans wherever you end up if you hit a chain type place, there is no UM bar that I know of...
Rather than start a new thread, how about Michigan bars in Easter Island?
they're all underwater now
I'm from around the area. There's plenty of Michigan fans in Dayton, but you'd be hard pressed to find a bar exclusive to UM fans.
Did undergrad/grad school in Dayton and I can honestly say in my entire time watching Michigan sports in that area (nearly a decade) there was never what you'd conside a "Michigan bar". Did make good enough friends with the owners/bartenders at Tutys Bar & Grill (near WPAFB on Col Glenn Hwy) that they'd always throw on Michigan for me upon request. Best pizza in the area, and the drinks are cheap. Be warned though, Thursday night is college night there, enter at your own peril.
I'm still young enough that I enjoy college night...specifically the college girls.

...suck.
Oh, I'm sorry I thought the OP was asking a question.
They have great pizza and big screens everywhere. It’s right on campus.
but no places where UM is other than tolerated. This is OSU country and they take the rivalry dead seriously.
There are plenty of individual Michigan fans that live there but there isn't a "Michigan Bar".
I lived in Dayton for 7 years and happily watched many Michigan events in various Dayton bars.
The key thing is that while there aren't any Michigan-centric bars, there won't be many "Michigan-hostile" bars either, given that it's NCAA Tournament basketball in March and the Buckeyes are long gone from the picture.
It won't be like wanting to watch a Michigan football game in a Dayton bar the middle of the football season.
There will be plently of Michigan fans around, and the non-Michigan fans will be disinterested to the point of tolerance.
