Michael Rosenberg's Voicemail
I just tried calling this asshole's phone line at the Free Press ([REDACTED]) and it said his voicemail was full. Made me feel pretty good that enough fans out there care enough to call him and rip him a new one (at least this is the reason I am telling myself).
Hopefully this will align our team like Ezeh says in the latest ESPN piece, but I am worried. No doubt this has distracted the players with constant calls / texts from friends / family asking if it is true or not. If we come out and hang 40 on Western, that might be one of the best feelings after a Michigan win that I have ever had.
Mod Edit: Don't make this a personal battle. You're above this. And if you're not, don't do this on MGoBoard.

I can see the sunday headline now, EXTRA PRACTICE WORKS FOR UM AS THEY GO FOR 49.
In't this the local paper? This isn't the Columbus Dispatch ... I don't get this shit.

Alright.
I'm as mad at Rosenberg at the next guy. It's become clear over the last two days that Rosenberg and Snyder only dove into about 25% of what they could have really put into their work, because if they would have found the remaining 75% (which, shockingly I know, has largely been provided by Brian and the MGOCommunity), they wouldn't have had a story.
But for fuck's sake, stop feeding the fire here. Acting like this is only going to convince Rosenberg and Sharp to continue to write more shit.
The way to get back at Rosenberg and Sharp is to not buy the Freep, get people to cancel their subscriptions, don't go to their websites. IGNORE them, don't give them fodder.
Channel that anger you feel into supporting the football team this Saturday.
I just watched Rich Rod's presser for the first time within the hour. When he started talking about Je'Ron and Brandin, there was an anger on his face that I immediately recognized as the protective glare of a father whose children have been wronged. Perhaps it was a work. If so, the Coach is a great actor.
I don't think it's a stretch to guess that the team is pissed off. Lord help the Broncos. Support Michigan, and IGNORE ROSENDOUCHE.

Co-sign. I'm semi-worried that people have taken this far too personally.

Your a better person than I. It's not so much that I'm more worried, just more embarrassed.

Directing any sort of negative feelings towards Rosenberg will only encourage more of the same from him. We should follow RR's lead here, and take the high road - respond with facts, not anger. We should focus our energy on Western and supporting him and the Wolverines the best we can.

Calling the guy might go a little across the line, depending on what you say and how you say it.
September 1st, 2009 at 1:49 AM ^
crossing the line? the number is there for a reason. bang the shit out of it if it makes you feel better. I think it's a useless exercise.
Does anyone out there think that writers rub their hands with glee at us peons getting our panties in a bunch over this? Now, the big-game donors, those guys they pop a boner over the thought of causing THEM trouble. These writers are looking for a paycheck, looking for exclusive deals and cross-media coverage. Please.
The only way to combat this is to research and be ready to respond when your fuckhead neighbor/co-worker/busboy starts about how great Moo U is and how in trouble UM is.
I need to hear that Rosenburg interview...

Yes, it is there for a reason, and that reason is so it can be used for his job. Having people that are pissed off call him is not needed and would be crossing the line if you just swear and act like a dick.

The number is there so that writers and papers can SEEM like they are responsive to readers. What they are responsive to is sales. Any reaction, positive or negative, can be great for the writer as long as it sells copies.

At this point, as was said before, the best thing to do is beat Western on Saturday (and the 11 teams after that), ignore Rosenberg, etc etc.
Honestly, I'm more angry now with the Susan Browns who are showing their true colors.
September 1st, 2009 at 7:29 AM ^
But who the shit is Susan Brown? Am I too young to know what the hell this saying means? I'm pissed at all the Sally Mitchells, but that's because none of them put out. I woke up at 5 and started thinking about which seniors might have a chance at being drafted early with a strong season. WHEN IS SATURDAY GETTING HERE?
September 1st, 2009 at 8:39 AM ^
I don't know which Susan Brown he's talking about either, but I did a little google news research, and I think he has a beef with one of the following...
- CUNY student of Jamaica, Queens, an aspiring meteorologist
- Fort Scott Director of Finance
- Lori's friend (seems nice, probably not her)
- library director at Transylvania University
- new chief nursing officer for OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center
- assistant dean of the College of Pharmacy, UT
I'm can't figure out which one. There's a Buckeye in there, but she seems to be fighting the good fight. My money is on the Transylvania lady, but the motive still eludes me.

Word. As a father, I know to the core of my being the emotion behind that glare.
September 1st, 2009 at 8:34 AM ^
Or we could make a bunch of ads on craigs list and put his # down for everybody to call?
September 1st, 2009 at 9:01 AM ^
work voicemail, so not a big deal. He can delete the messages as soon as he logs in.
Actually, why not?
September 1st, 2009 at 12:30 PM ^
An easy search will bring up is email also. He'll probably delete it but I sent one with the title "YOU SUCK! Go Blue!"
Immature? Yes.
Do I care? No.
He obviously doesnt care about putting quality work, jut rushing it to the press before the season starts. It only takes 5 minutes out my day and if he gets bombarded with emails saying he sucks, maybe he'll realize that he does. Unless sucking gives him a hard on...then he's got other issues.

I received an email from Doug that the M Den has removed Michael Rosenberg's book from the retail stores and website due to all of the complaints he received.
