Was preparing the post but you beat me to the trigger.  So here you go:

Hopefully there won't be a let down after a big weekend.

Apparently Isaiah Paige is the 4th starter or it's a bullpen game.  UConn scored the game's only run because a runner got into scoring position due to a wild pitch.

Here are the links for the game:

Live TV from the UConn site:

Live stats (click on triple bars upper left for different categories) :

The UConn site is probably better, but they're stuck on the pre-game page.

For those of you that have official connections, it's time to kick up a shit storm over MGoBlue.com's lousy coverage of UM sports - dead video links and the stats pages have lousy graphics.  Much better coverage on opponent's web sites.  Maybe time to use part of Harbaugh's salary to bring UM's coverage up to expected standards !!!

Isaiah should be the Sunday starter.  He pitches to contact, keeps the pitch count down, can eat innings.  Doesn’t throw 90, but great movement on all his pitches.  Curve, change, slider, they all start from the same angle and break just a little differently, hard to tell what’s coming out of his hand.

Totally agree

I’d say both should be saved for Sunday, I wouldn’t make either my midweek starter. If you can get 4-6 from the starter and “close” with the other.  If one gets in trouble the other can pick up innings. Sunday starts are very important because your pen could be taxed.

Yep, absolutely, you are seeing that more and more in the top conferences.  #1 on Friday, #2 on Saturday and #3 and #4 sharing the duties on Sunday--try to get 4+ innings out of each.  You don't even need to pick one or the other as the #3 starter, because it's pretty much the same either way.

Well, not today.  Connecticut wins, 7-1.  Michigan still with a good start at 3-1 for the weekend, and they play 3 more against UConn next weekend in Port St. Lucie, Florida, at the New York Mets training camp.

Overall encouraging start.  Michigan's strengths from last season--starting pitching, team speed and infield defense are looking strong again this season.  Michigan's weaknesses from last season--bullpen depth and outfield defense--are still areas that need work.  Injuries to closer Willie Weiss and center fielder Jesse Franklin aren't helping either of those weak areas right now; hopefully both are back for the Big Ten campaign.

Sorry everyone. I decided to drive over to Talking Stick field to watch the game. My first ever Michigan Baseball game. I guess I jinxed them.

I'm chalking this loss up to playing 3 games in 24 hours and am not too concerned about it. "Highlight" of the game came when Carattini got beaned in the butt while squatting to avoid the throw from the catcher down to 2nd base on a UConn stolen base.  Pretty good!
