MGoBlogger of the Year?

Submitted by juiceman on
As 2008 comes to a close, I thought everyone could nominate 2-3 people for "MGoBlogger of the Year." No criteria - just free form. Nominations can be justified or as trivial as you wish. Although I appreciate all mgobloggers (even Jay who takes constant abuse), I'd like to nominate the following people: 1. jamiemac - I love gambling and his insight on point spreads is always a good read. 2. The Knowledge - This guy has balls and swagger doesn't he? He's our very own oracle. 3. Glen Masons Hot Wife - The name alone accompanied by the picture brings a smile to my face every day. Tom VH would be a sure-fire top 3 for me as well, but he's like mgoblog admin so I didn't include him for this.

A sincere nod: Gsimms and Drexel for dropping knowledge. Jamiemac for being a degenerate gambler (in a good way).

Tom VH Chitown Jamie WolvinLA drexel Sammy (he's not here too often but his diaries make fun of That Darn Wolverine were brilliant) Whoever writes as the Sparty Brah guy There are probably more. Are we voting in general terms or just people that write diaries? Cuz Chitown & WolvinLA get in for great commenting whereas Jamie, Drexel and Sammy more for their diaries.

for the kinds words and nomination....I am just glad that people read and enjoy what I do....and that Brian has created a forum for me and try to 'blog' That said, I am not sure I belong up top.....maybe if the Bowl Chronicles continues to win, so we'll see at the end of the week. Here is my list: TomVH.....in that last several months, he has given this site a credible reporting edge that others cant match. And, he literally takes 'assignments' from all of us. I still am not a big follower of recruiting, but many, many, many more people seem to be into it....TomVH gets the scoop. I look forward to watching his career grow and we can say we knew him when. Dex.....the creator and, uh, genius behind the WLA. I know its a different blog, but the WLA is a branch of mgoblog, at least as I see it. He turned the popularity of this Blog into something of his own creation. The WLA might be a bit too clubhouse for most people, but, hey, its my clubhouse and a refuge for a lot of mgoblogheads who go back and forth between the Blogs. The creation of the WLA really helped pave the way for the new look of this site. Within the mgoblog community, Dex has made an indelible mark in 2008. Viva La Revolution. Gsimms.....Mgoblog's personal football coach. Wish he would update his own blog and take more time to do Diaries, but he is a very busy fellow. I had a hard enough time writing the Big 10 Picks once a week, so time is hard to come by. We all are versed in 'Holding Your Verticals' and that is tribute to ability to communicate through this medium. Magnus.....One of the few Diarists who when he publishes something new is sure to generate a lot of responses. Its a Sunday morning tradition to read his Pink Slips and watch the arguments spew back and forth. I give this guy a ton of credit. He spent all of last year being flamed by BILG and gets a ton of shit from a lot people this year for what he writes. But, you know what? He's still here, loves UM sports, loves to rap about UM sports and he brings a lot to the table with his writings. I am sure he'll get Brandon Minor's vote. Drexel.....he is like the Ron Jaworski of this site. Jaws breaks down so much film, he knows every team. I love Drexel's scouting reports. Like Gsimms, I wish we'd see more out of him. But, I know these teams inside and out, and yet I still find a way to glean new information from his write-ups. That's a credit to Drexel's research and ability to convey that research in well written, easy to read Diaries. Sammylittle does not write enough, but the Old Darn Wolverine satire would be in the team photo for singular Diary of the year.....jman007 is getting a jump on 2009 for his Road to #1 series. Who else is not only telling us that Cornell Hockey is playing in something called the Florida Gulf Coast tourney, but also how those results will impact UM? I will throw my hat in the ring if Bowl Chronicles continues to churn out the wins. If it still is on Saturday, then put me in the competition. Hey, the Big 10 Picks series turned a profit picking every league game this year and if Bowl Chronicles ends up doing the same, well then perhaps I do deserve a smidge of credit.
