META: Thank You All - Board vs Diaries
It's been 27 hours and not one person has been so enraged as to waste diary space with stupid letters to no one. No "keep cool everyone". No blind rages. I'm impressed. I think many of you are starting to get it.
And I realize by saying this, there will be at least 2 in the next hour.

I don't know what I would have done without this blog with all the crap we have had to deal with this week.

Agreed. I hate "Open Letters" even more than "[Name of recruit]?" posts.

Now you're just tempting fate.

I assumed folks had lost Interent connection. But, yeah, color me impressed too. The board has still been going downhill the last six months or so. Maybe the winds just changed. We can only hope.

..it's the "stragglers" who seem to have finally "arrived."
I would imagine that the problem was with a very small segment of the mgoblog community. I definitely agree that it has been nice to see the diaries not being used for petty grievences, rants, telling us what to or what not to talk about, or spillover from large forum topics.
In times like this, it's great to look at the diaries and see quality entries.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm on this thing so much my girlfriend teases me about it to all my friends.
Luckily they're mostly Michigan people and they get it...:)

That's pretty much how the term "blogfags" came into existence. Silly wives/girlfriends.

But I Googled "Post MGoBlog Diary" and I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. This new MGoBlog layout is confusing!

Well, it's been an hour and there are two new Diary posts regarding this...

"Chill. Out
85 replies"
However, on the whole, i agree with the sentiment of FA's post. Hope we continue to keep content on the up and up.

I was going to start an open letter to the Freep in a diary until I saw this thread. Thanks formerlyanonymous! You saved my mgostatus!

People may have gotten it on the diary side, but there have been way too many board topics devoted to the same thing in the last day.
Too bad the enormous MGoStaff (I'm assuming about four mods) can't set up special MGoTopics for particularly controversial issues. It's the one time I wish there was a traditional message board option available.

Brian's idea is to let the board have a level of chaos from what I understand. That includes overkill. Comment your disapproval enough and it will slow.
