META: Spartan Week Reminder

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on

Greetings MGoDenizens. Just a reminder that this is a week where a fan base with an inferiority complex will be taking on your Michigan Wolverines.

This leads to unfun things in these parts, so remember, don't feed the trolls. Mods will take care of them when we have the time. Downvote and move on.

We're expecting this type of stuff not only this week, but next week, and every week, because if you're a Spartan, you have nothing better to do.

And on that note, let it be said, DO NOT GO TROLLING THEIR BOARDS EITHER. It only encourages them to troll back. Take the high road and stick to your own team's blog(s).

[Geaux_Blue edit]: Bump this post if/when you spot one. Helpful.

Just to add to the general paranoia, there are several new users with names suspiciously simliar to veteran posters.  WichitanWolverine, you have your own little bro, "WichitaWolverine."

I'm not insinuating that user is a troll, but TRUST NO ONE!!!

I wouldn't want to lower myself by posting anything about spartie.  The last thing I would do is go to one of their sites  .... scary.  Go Blue !!!!

It's this simple: if we don't up-vote any posts that have spelling and grammar mistakes, there's no way that they'll be able to create a new topic.

After years of lurking, it seems that I picked an auspcious week to finally sign up.  Alcohol-induced account-creation bravado, fwiw.  Now it looks like I have some work to do to separate myself from the riff-raff.

It's hardly worth commenting, but I just followed a link over to RCMB and discovered that they have a strong aversion to media outlets following up negative stories about people related to their program.  I haven't followed the story at all so my only opinion about the Spartan reaction is that it's funny to read "I hate biased journalism. You get these blogs and 'watchdog' groups online that have no training, no tact and no news judgment, and it shows in the writing."  That's a sentence that can only come from a fan of a program with a loyal "trained" lapdog in the local media.

On a brighter note, it seems Denard is even too fast for MSU fans to hate him.  Now, "ForeverMediocre"? If you're an MGoBlogger, stay out of it, especially when they're being honest and human and reasonable.  Besides, you called out the wrong thing.  It's plenty reasonable for any opposing fan to say, "the only bad thing about Denard is that he plays [somewhere else]."  If you want to find the problem with MSU fans, go to a bar and listen to the MSU contingent as they cheer louder about scores against Michigan than about scores for State.

If you don't care about trolls hopping on with worthless content, and would prefer flame arguments (contrary to what other mods have suggested...good to see everyone still on the same page), why should I? Because it doesn't seem you can take the time to read more than his last post....

he only has two. they're biased slants. they're not trolling. trolling is LULZ U GUYZ SUXORZ. he simply disagrees. bfd. to claim i don't agree simply bc i "didn't know about him" or "didn't read the entries" is ridiculous. not to mention he's a mod of RCMB

You lost me at "he's a mod of RCMB" (well then...).

But then I noticed you didn't even count the number of posts he had right.... (unless someone else has been deleting them, he at least had 3....)
