Men's gymnastics in NCAA finals tonight
Just a quick note that the men's gymnastics team is competing in the NCAA finals tonight in West Point, N.Y., at 7:00. Other teams vying for the championship are Oklahoma, California, Stanford, Illinois, and Ohio State.
There's a live blog at the U-M site.
Go Blue!
are the #1 seed after the semis. Hopefully they can repeat tonight. GO BLUE! Bring home a nice, big trophy! :-D
Illinois broke a ring during the third rotation, and they are having to replace the whole set up for some reason. Talk about a momentum killer.
Looks like Michigan survived the delay in fine fashion.
Switching topics slightly--to the women's team--and you may already know this Chris, but Bev Plocki on WTKA today said that Zurales will definitely be out at the nationals with a dislocated shoulder. Beilstein will replace her on balance beam and Kramer on vault.

New rings are not right, bunches of guys have peeled off. Michigan is up on rings, but they are replacing them AGAIN.

the redo's on still rings left (one of them is ours, a good chance to improve our score a little) Michigan is in first! Stanford is 0.3 back, Oklahoma is about 3.0 back. From what I'm gathering nobody else is particularly close. I don't know if any OU or Stanford athletes get to redo Rings.
But it looks very, very good for Michigan. GO BLUE!
EDIT: We're also 1-2 in the all-around, with the extra Rings people still to go. Our guys will not repeat their routines. I don't know the spread on that.

All-around might change -- some very strong AAers peeled on rings.

The LiveBlog is a little chaotic right now, but it looks like M may have won?

It would take a miracle for OU to win, but it's mathematically possible.
