Maxwell and Bednarik Pre-Season Watch Lists Announced
The Maxwell Football Club's pre-season watch lists for the Maxwell and Bednarik awards were announced this morning. There are no Michigan players on either list.
Yes, that guy who's about to post, you think this is a stupid list and it is and it doesn't matter and all that matters is what happens on the field. Just win games. Etc.
But I do think it's one of those indicators that the season is only a couple of months away, and it's time to refresh your memory on who, by one club's measure, is going to be good in 2015. You are likely to see many of them in the oft-confusing but slightly amusing B1G draft that the writers of this board will engage in soon. And scorn, this list is made for scorn. Some of the nominees seem to be active trolling on the MFC's part, for which I commend them.

In the absence of Michigan players on the list, let's look at the B1G and opponents:
Maxwell
OSU: QB's Miller, Barrett, and Jones, RB Elliot
MSU: QB Connor Cook
Nebraska: QB Tommy Armstrong
Mother Fucking Rut fucking gers: WR Leonte Carro
Wiscy: RB Corey Clement
PSU: QB Hackenberg, WR DaeSean Hamilton
Northwestern: RB Justin Jackson
Indiana: QB Nate Sudfeld (!)
Utah: RB Devontae Booker
BYU: QB Taysom Hill
Oregon State: RB Storm Woods
Bednarik
OSU: DE Bosa, LB Josh Perry
MSU: DE Calhoun, LB Davis. Didnt' realize Davis was so highly regarded
Nebraska: DT Collins
Mother Fucking Rut fucking gers: DL Darius Hamilton
Wiscy: LB Biegel, S Caputo
Minnesota: CB Boddy-Calhoun, CB Murray. Two corners for the Gophers
Maryland: CB Lakely
PSU: DT Anthony Zettel
Utah: LB Norris
BYU: DE Kaufusi
Scorn/Discussion
QB Malik Zaire for ND is included, hasn't played much
ND has 3 guys on the defense list: DT Day, LB Smith, CB Russell
Tennessee has 5 guys total on the list, including their QB, RB and 3 on defense
Gunner Kiel and Maty Mauk on the list, one time prospects for Michigan
hunt best
It's funny how I've heard of few of the defensive players, but most of the offensive players. I get that thats just how the league is now, but I still find it interesting. Also, I'm guessing you have a problem with Rutgers OP?
I do not enjoy the fact that not only did we lose to them, but were outcoached on both sides of the ball. They were absolutely manhandled by OSU, MSU, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. This bothers me, that they are able to claim a 1-0 conference record against us.
I'm not sayin' they're wrong, but OSU with three QB candidates for the Maxwell?!?
That's just ... I dunno, man. I dunno.

I tihnk it's great that nobody on the team is getting any preseason recognition. Harbaugh will be able to play the "No Respect" and "Us Against the World" cards whenever he wants to this year. This is a team of previous underachievers with a huge collective chip on its shoulder.
Mentally, this team will be like Clubber Lang during the first portion of Rocky 3. I like that a lot. It's an edge Michigan hasn't had in a long time.
Maybe a slight indication on how the previous coaching staff was misreable at developement and coaching of players.
Meanwhile a draft analyst said that Wayne Lyons as a projected 4th rounder was our highest ranked senior which says a lot about the senior class.
