Marvin Robinson

I don't subscribe to any of the "premium" sites but noticed the tease about Marvin Robinson planning a visit to UNC. Anyone heard anything about this?

Yes, he has said all along that he will be taking all of his visits. He'll probably go other places besides UNC. There's no need for this thread to turn into the, "OMG he's decommitting....I knew it, he sucks anyway.....why do we offer so many kids.....why do we let them commit so early....RR should've kept him a silent commit....how many kids will decommit this year....his coach sucks lolz o$u....etc." The premium sites like to post this stuff to cause reactions, if nothing else.

I was going to say something along that line, but you beat me to it and probably said it better than I would have. Thanks!

If I was a 17 year-old and was offered 5 free trips to to any 5 universities in the country... I'd "look" too. I find it odd when committed players turn down any official visits... seems like a no brainer to me (for sure when you add the SEC's southern-belles that escort you around campus for 2 days)

to not let recruiting suck the life out of things. From what I've heard RR say about recruiting it sounds like he sort of enjoys it. I'd think you'd have to or it would drive you out of your mind. I know it would me. IIRC one of the reasons that Bo stepped down as early as he did (aside from the major health issues) was that he couldn't stand dealing with what recruiting was turning into. It's not for the faint of heart.

I'm sure all D1 coaches would prefer to see their verbal commits avoid taking any official and/or unofficial visits to see other programs, but I thought RR had made note numerous times to recruits that if they feel they still need to take visits to other schools than they should be verbally uncommitted to Michigan at that time? Thought this precedent came to the forefront with DeQuinta Jones last year when he was sitting the fence despite staying committed to Michigan.

Why are people bashing the person who wrote the article and saying he's "creating interest" or trying to "cause reaction". Maybe he's writing it because it's a fact. If Brennan Clay plans to visit us I'm sure we'll see articles on it from Michigan writers. Are you gonna bash them too?

No one is bashing the writer, they are just saying that we shouldn't be concerned about it. Let's say Brennan Clay is the most solid commit to OU ever, but he takes a free visit to M to see Tate. There will probably be a headline like "Clay to visit Michigan, is he wavering?" This generates hits from Michigan fans, but it doesn't mean that OU fans should worry. That's what people are saying.

I never bashed the writer just stated what was expected of him and that we shouldn't worry even if it is a fact. About the only one of these writers I bash is Kurelic from Sucknuts oops I mean Bucknuts. Did you know that Gholston is only interested in OSU and MSU and that the BHBBQ might only net 1 recruit-Kenny Wilkins.
