M vs ND in 4K on DirecTV
Yesterday, I got my DirecTV system upgraded to a Genie 2 with clients so I can receive 4K content. My hope was that several Michigan games will be broadcast in 4K this year. The ND game will be in glorious 4K on channel 106 tomorrow.
For DirecTV owners....I was able to negotiate $60 a month off my bill as part of my upgrade deal. Call the loyalty desk. The nice lady I talked to from West VA was very pleasant and helpful. I had been out of contract for at least 8 years.

How much total a month was it including internet?

I don’t have internet through AT&T.
Got my bill down to $100/mo including HBO and regional sports (so I can see Inside Michigan Football on Fox sports Detroit...also Red Wings games). I have 3 TVs. I got 2 4K clients.

Someone with the capability please get a raw 4K rip of the game -- this would be great for future hype videos

What do you mean by raw?

Raw video is typically unprocessed video that comes directly from the camera(s).
I'd be curious to see just how much compression DirecTV uses for its 4K. I might be wrong but I'd be shocked if it were lossless.

General rule of thumb is that you should renegotiate all your bills every 6-12 months. Especially cable and internet that offer these insane introductory rates.
Call up, say you're canceling, wait til you're connected to a customer retention specialist, and their only success metric is how many people they keep from canceling. They are the ones who can extend your current introductory rate for another contact length.

Sirius is the worst. Now I just start the conversation with "I dont mind paying the intro price or cancelling, you tell me". It skips about 7 steps in between.

Damn. Didn't know that was a thing. Bet it will look amazing.

Would NBC possibly stream the game in 4k? I have an xbox one x, and that would be the best use of it yet.

Getting the game in 4k is amazing but is this a joke? The xbox one x has been an amazing investment. Games look stunning on it.
