Lynn Henning Says Denard Should Run Less

Apparently Michigan will have Denard run the ball Saturday, "but at what cost to Robinson."  Apparently he will get hit harder and harder as the season progresses not only when he runs the ball but also - get this - when he throws the ball!  We better limit his touches asap.  Lynn went out and found some "expert" testimony to this effect.  Count me as "very concerned".  From his post game comments RR seemed like he agreed - I mean it's about time he started looking out for the well being of his players instead of locking them on the practice field and weight lifting facility for 12 hours every Sunday.

"and the fact that once RR knew they couldn't stop the QB power he kept going back to it."

DING DING DING.

When they can't stop it, keep running it!

Defenses will adjust to take away Denard. Then RR/CMcG will call something else. Then they'll adjust, and Denard will run again. It's the way the system works. These writers are damn fools, you don't have to be a coach to understand the game-by-game chess strategy that gets played.

What's makes me laugh is that this idiot doesn't understand the read option.  Denard's number of carries depend on what the DEs do.  They crash down....the QB runs.  If Uconn wanted to limit Denards carries they should have told their DEs to stop crashing into the middle.  What's hard on a defense is that when the DEs don't crash down, Denard hands off up the middle.  Hence Smith's touchdown run.  Why do I expect reporters to know what they are talking about?

One game and the Michigan haters are all coming up with new memes: 'Rodriguez endangers kids with too much playing time....'

UCONN had no clue, Denard said screw it, and kept running it up their ass. Next game, when they stack the box, he can just get it out to our receivers who will blaze past their 1-1 coverage.

All the haters should just keep talking as it provides more fuel to what can be a special team.

Who the fuck is Lynn Henning? A bottom feeder of rumors and pass-along secrets? Her opinion is based on "he said she said" crap. Same shit the rest of the media has been infected with courtesy of freep jihad. Don't believe the hype.

Henning is a Sparty fan so his objectivity on the subject of UM football is suspect. He's better left to covering the Tigers.

That being said, I've known him to refer to Cabrera as the Tigers' number 3 hitter, even though Cabbie has hit 4th in every 2010 appearance. So on second thought, maybe he should hang 'em up.

From what I gathered from Rich's press conference he eluded to the fact that he would have liked to have gone deep on the passing but the swirling wind would not allow it.   Weather permitting I think you are going to see a few longer pass attempts/completions against ND this weekend.  Should loosen up their defense if they want to play up to stop Denard's running game.   So more passing, less running.  Just longer runs and longer passes.

Bottom line is IF Denard is hitting his passes and the line is blocking well their defense wont be able to stop our offense.  We have had great defenses in the past that have had problems with a mobile QB in the spread attack.  ND isn't any different.  Feels good to be on the other end of that one for a change.

Uh, gambler's fallacy (again)?
