Louis Bullock returns to Crisler Center
At least he's making the effort to come back even after the ban.
Interesting. Seems he's been welcomed back with open arms by the coaches at least.

Players when he was at Michigan. Glad both parties seem to be moving forward.

However, they would not accept it because it was flagged from him using it in the restroom.

Did you used to work at a Brentano's?

17 years?! I hate it when people do the mAth I've been avoiding because it makes me feel old. Got ran off the ccrb court a few times by Mr. Bullock.

Hope he gave Irvin some tips on shooting free throws
February 14th, 2016 at 12:17 AM ^
Good memories of Lou Bullock and Robbie Reid draining threes. Those guys would've fit in well with Beilein's style. Lou had an effortless shooting stroke and deep range sort of like Steph Curry (obviously not to that extent).

the 1998 team was going to make a deep tourney run after they won the inaugural BTT.
February 14th, 2016 at 7:56 AM ^
I went to the first Big Ten Tournament - we were the 4-seed, I think, earning the initial round bye and then beating Iowa and Minnesota (who beat Michigan State, the presumptive favorite at #1). I think we played Purdue in the final game to win it all that time too. Traylor and Ward made all-Conference team for the tourney too, I think.

and then Baron Davis spooged on everyones faces.
February 14th, 2016 at 8:50 AM ^
One of my favorite wins they did was against Bob Knight that season at Crisler, winning 112-64. That was the most points Indiana has given up in a game in their entire history...
February 14th, 2016 at 9:38 AM ^
Thanks for sharing. Tractor was a one man wrecking crew with his inside game and ability to find open teammates. Ward was a nice big as well. Some may remember he was the #1 guy in the "Fab Five II". Shame what occurred but man those were fun times pulling in great talent. From the 89 team through the two Fab Fives...talent.

When Travis Conlan is running the floor and dunking on you you know it isn't your night. That team played some really fun basketball though.

Man, Tractor had great hands and an ability to pass the ball that was just ridiculous! That was a great clip, it took me back in time for a few minutes. What a fun team to watch, regardless of how we feel about the things that came later.
Also, kicking the asses of Bob Knight and his Hoosiers was always fun!

#3 Robbie Reid out of Spanish Fork, UT!!!!

This is good stuff. Good for Louis, and good for Michigan Basketball for being welcoming.
Now, as always, the ball is in your hands, Chris.

except timeouts.

Not sure you're kidding or not. Tractor taylor passed away in Puerto Rico a few years ago.

That '98 team was fun with a great inside-outside combo led by Bullock and Traylor.
Lou should be happy to know that his Michigan single season 3 pointers made record of 101 is likely safe for at least another season. Duncan Robinson was threatening that number but has fallen way off pace.
February 14th, 2016 at 12:37 AM ^
I was too young at the time to know what "boosters" were and that "taking money is bad...mmkay". I just remember the dude could drain 3s

Since you changed to your old name, why not also go back to the old pic?

Sweet Lou was the man ! I lived in Spain for a year and was shocked when I saw him tearing it up for Real Madrid BBall one day. Blue runs the world !

I'm surprised by the general support for Bullock on here, especially compared to the hate Webber gets.
February 14th, 2016 at 1:17 AM ^
Maybe because Bullock has kept a low profile and is connecting behind the scenes with the coaches and team and not making a media circus over himself on the eve of the most important game in two decades.

These photos were taken while the team was in Atlanta in 2013?

this was not like Rose, a poor inner city kid taking a little cash. Bullock came from a very well to do family. Taylor and Traylor were not exactly poor either IIRC.
as Band points out below, by the time Bullock & Co arrive on campus, Ed Martin was well known by the coaches. players were warned not to associate with him.
Bullock & Co ignored every warning, took money they did not need, and flaunted it/made stupid decisions in how they went about it.
I have forgiven them just as I forgave Webber. but to somehow rationalize Bullock as being less responsible than the Fab Five, or somehow deserving more leniency is stupid.
February 14th, 2016 at 2:47 AM ^
Webber gets "hate" because he has made numerous inflammatory statements over the years that have been detrimental to the program. He has continuously refused to give even a hint of a "mea culpa" and blames everyone but himself for what happend to him and to the program he put in purgatory for ten years.
If Webber apologizes, shows even a trace of remorse and admits wrongdoing, I will be loud in my advocacy of his return to "good graces" at Michigan. Until then, he might as well be a Spartan or a Buckeye.
February 14th, 2016 at 1:43 PM ^
did Bullock or Taylor or Traylor ever apologize? I don't remember anything from that trio.
February 14th, 2016 at 12:49 AM ^
Loved watching him play, nailing the 3's.
His year we had 3 McDonalds All-Americans (Lou, Trayler, and Albert White). (Other notable McD All Americans that year were Vince Carter, Paul Pierce, Garnett, Chauncey Billups, Antwan Jameson, Stephan Marbury.) His class didn't live up to our expectations, and I wondered if Steve Fisher was a good coach until I saw what he did the last few years at San Diego State.
Glad to see Lou smiling in Crisler. Was a great time for UM sports--football, hockey, basketball, swimming we were always competitive.
February 14th, 2016 at 1:07 AM ^
from deep, I can't get over the fact that he didn't abide by the rules in the immediate aftermath of the Fab 5/Ed Martin scandal.
February 14th, 2016 at 1:30 AM ^
There were 98 posts last year covering the full range of opinions after Beilein had Bullock speak to the team at a UM-Maryland game:

Had at least a couple McDonald's AA's it seemed. Who was the last one? Blanchard?
February 14th, 2016 at 7:49 AM ^
The last one was Daniel Horton, I think.
February 14th, 2016 at 8:39 AM ^
Imagine Horton under Beilein, that would be fun to watch!

The only bizarre thing here is why people like you care so fucking much. Even if it is the same person (which I doubt), so? How does that affect you in any way?
February 14th, 2016 at 2:08 AM ^
Benn provided photographic proof that he's not me the other day on here so people can drop that now that that's been proven wrong.
February 14th, 2016 at 7:26 AM ^
The sticky thread doesn't prove anything. In fact, it looks like you are desperately trying to talk your split personality into posting a picture to save your ass. And even if Benn isn't you, there are several other user names you use all the time on this blog.
February 14th, 2016 at 7:50 AM ^

you have so many haters, but most people on this board appreciate your contributions. My advice is ignore the dumb fucks...don't even respond to them.

not that i care...but couldn't you ask anyone to do that for you?
