Lo Wood Announcing June 26th

Submitted by TomVH on
Lo Wood is announcing his choice on June 26th. Like I said before, I think we're on the outside. It seems like Notre Dame will be his pick. We'll see.

there is a ND camp that day which he is supposed to be attending with Boyd Edit: He will not be at ND that day, he will be at a camp in florida that day.

Either that will be a huge slap to the face of ND announcing he's going somewhere else on the same day as the camp, or, the more obvious option, he will pick ND.

At this point I would much rather have Mathis, Christian and Knight over Lo Wood. I thought he would be much higher rated early on with all the hype surrounding him. I guess I had on my Michigan goggles.

Haha, I thought the same thing. However, Lo Wood has gone from "possibly #1 CB in the country and #1 player in Florida" to "the 4th or 5th highest rated guy at his position that we're recruiting." That said, the coaches may have decided that he wasn't one of our top priorities at the position, and he's deciding to go somewhere that's showing him more love. I have nothing to back this up, but I know a lot of people, fans and recruiting services alike, aren't as excited about Lo Wood as they were a year ago. This happened before he named ND his leader over us.

It's the same as the way the praise died a lot for Jeremy Jackson after the rankings came out. We all thought he would be so highly rated, and he's barely a 3 star. Lo Wood, as it stands now, is rated (quite a bit, actually) below Dior Mathis, Cullen Christian, and Rashad McKnight, all of whom are Michigan leans. A year ago, it looked like Lo Wood would be our highest rated CB commit, maybe the highest on defense altogether. Now, even if he did commit to us, that certainly wouldn't be the case.

This maybe different than ND but normally whoever we offer first is our top priority. Obviously certain prospects will not emerge until their senior year in high school but it means a lot to prospects to be in on them early and show them that they're important to whatever school is recruiting them. UM was way out in front for quite a while, it would surprise me greatly if he is less of a recruit to them now.
