This is just a great montage of personal pics from a NW guy who attended the B1G media day at McCormick Place in Chicago.

I thought his comment about the line for JH's football autograph being 7x longer than UM's sort of interesting.  Even a picture of MD smiling if you can believe it!

The Big10 did a nice job here and the conference definitely feels like it has ramped up.

I get alot of pleasure looking at this picture and reading the caption at the bottom...

In Friday's Chicago Tribune, a local writer asked Conner Cook how felt about OSU/Michigan getting a lot more attention than MSU at Media Days and he said , "It's nothing different.  You win a Big 10 championship, you win a Rose Bowl, you still don't get the respect.  It's what we've dealt with at Michigan State." (link).  It's really astonishing to me the Rodney Dangerfield culture that Mark has actually CULTIVATED.  You'd think high-level athletes could find another motivation.

Perennial alpha male? We haven't won the league in 11 years. Recent history is very important in this game because of the young age of recruits.

I don't blame him for being a bit miffed because, well, this is the best run MSU has really had in most of our lifetimes and it constantly second-fiddle to what goes on at UM and OSU.  And to be realistic, whatever window MSU had to really establish themselves as a nationally-elite program probably closed when OSU hired Meyer and UM signed Harbaugh.  A healthy UM and OSU are typically going to be better than MSU, and we've already seen that MSU's best efforts really can't compete with OSU in the conference.  Maybe MSU keeps it going for a year or two more at a high level, but with UM seemingly turning the corner along with PSU recruiting well, you have to figure their time as the #2 team in the conference is over.

That cat in the middle of the picture looks like he has completely spaced out, perhaps even entered some level of psychosis. That's typical in the closing weeks before the season actually starts and OT season ends as material does tend to get a bit thin around here some days. Actually, I had that look through most of the apparel threads, to be honest.

Clicked the link and 1st thing I noticed was that the logo of "Off Tackle Empire" website is none other than Civil War general William Tecumseh Sherman!  War is hell.  Good stuff.

The line for Jim Hackett's football autograph being 7x longer than the University of Michigan's was sort of interesting? Even a picture of Maryland smiling if you can believe it?

These abbreviations are getting confusing...

Wait, are you saying all those guys in line being measured are dick's? That's painting with a pretty long and girthy brush isn't it? You sound like a cup half empty rather than cup runneth over kind of guy on this one.  Without even having met any of them yet I think this is a clear case of premature evaluation.

Woooohooo, who needs media day?! I just met Harbaugh at the play Ernie at Hockeytown. He was there with his family and Mitch Albom. My dad and I got a pic with him. I told him I had some eligibility left if he needed a center (which I played in HS). He looked me up and down (6' 220) and said, "center huh?" and chuckled. I thanked him and walked away. Mitch Albom looks like a hobbit. I can die happy now.

Mitch invited him to a showing of "Ernie" a couple of weeks ago on an interview. Coach promptly told him he hoped it was a sincere offer because the Harbaugh family wouldn't turn down such an offer. They were reminiscing about Ernie, I think, through part of the interview, which prompted the invite.
