Les Miles talks smack

Submitted by mooseman on

I heard (don't have the actual quote) that Miles took a stab at Bama. He said LSU fans should not be too excited about beating them last year because they were not the only Louisiana school to beat the Tide (referencing the loss to La Monroe, I believe).

I love the RR hire, but this did give me a pang of regret about what could have been.

RichRod is a good fit, and he's our guy now. But I still like Les Miles a lot. I know a lot of people developed a little disdain for him during the whole coaching search, but it sounds like that was largely (if not entirely) not his fault. He's still a Michigan Man, and I would love to see a UM-LSU national championship in the next couple years.

He's a good coach, but he's basically guaranteed to say something cringe-worthy a couple times a year (and this is not actually one of them). I wish him well, but I think we ended up landing a better coach.

I agree. Les is a fantastic coach and I would be extremely excited if he was our coach. He is not. Reading some of the things the WVU players and fans have said about losing Barwis may be worse than losing RR, and simply the fact that for once in our lifetimes Michigan will actually be AHEAD of the curve (instead of being the last team to switch from an archaic offense to the spread) when it comes to style of play/coaching, etc. I am very pleased with the RR hire and the transition (not a moment too soon) of the style of play, and I'm hopeful that we will look back on this and have not a moments regret that Les stayed with LSU.

i heard that Lloyd and Domino's Pizza CEO David Brandon didn't like Miles and sandbagged him essentially. Anyone know if this is true. why wouldn't they like him? who were the main players searching for the new coach? Martin must have had help, right?
