"They" who is this "they"? As far as I know, there's been a regime change. The they from last year aint the they from this year. I am not saying that the patches have not been completely removed, just that your logic is faulty.

"does not involve the numbers being worn"...

Morgan is still wearing the jersey.  He may or may not have a patch when the season starts.  Regardless, you're jumping to conclusions on what may or may not be the exact nature of the Legends concept based on a single practice from a new coaching staff. Maybe just wait (I know it's crazy to actually have patience) until there's legitimate information instead of trying to be FIRST to note something that you don't have a good factual basis for saying, just for some sort of BS "first to post" credibility you think it  might give you.

Good. Never liked the patch and never liked the legends jerseys. Put the retired numbers on the skyboxes and let our stars of today create their own legacies.

A giant number on a skybox would be better.  Put all the old numbers back into circulation if you want.  Or if a player wants to switch to the #1 or #2 or #47, let them do it, but without the patch.  People in the stands can't see the patch anyways, and its still too small on TV to make any sense for the casual fan.  But, have a big ol' #2 Charles Woodson on the side of a giant skybox, and the next time Blake Countess makes a big play, its super easy to have the director and camera guy to cut to a shot of that sign on the skybox afterwards.  Plus, the people in the stands can look up at any time, and see a big ol' #2 on the building and say "fuck yea, Charles Woodson was awesome."

And yes, I know Woodson's number isn't retired.  But it should be.  He was fucking awesome.

I really liked the legends jerseys and patches. I know I'm in a very small minority, but I thought it was done very respectfully and looked ok. I think it helped educate a lot of newer/younger fans about the old greats. Oh well.

It was mostly a joke. A play on the words of the other comment. Sorry everyone was sensitive to the issue. Gardner isn't a good QB though. He was a good athlete who could throw the ball. Not a QB though. Same with Denard. Otherwise, you'd see them being considered for the position in the NFL. It isn't even a possibility for either one. But they WERE the best QB's on the roster at the time and gave us the best chance to win. But that doesn't even remotely mean he was good.

I thought it was a cool idea done with a gaudy patch. If they had done a small block M with the guy's name underneath it, it would have been neat.
