Beat me to it!

Here's the preview I was writing up:

Wow! For those who didn't see that Michigan beat Notre Dame Wednesday, this team now has a chance to do something big this year in a relatively weak Big Ten in comparison to years past. The bracketologies of lacrosse even have Michigan in as the #9 team in their way-too-early predictions. Even though that may be a stretch for a team that went 6-8 last year, those dreams shouldn't get de-railed today.

UMBC comes into today's game at 2-5 while Michigan is 6-2. Although, UMBC only has wins over Richmond and Marist, they played Navy, Towson, and Stony Brook close in low-scoring affairs.

Here is the live stream.

Here is a recap of the Notre Dame game from Inside Lacrosse.

In other games:

#9 Johns Hopkins beat #10 Virginia,15-13, which helps the Big Ten's RPI.

#16 Penn lost to Cornell, 20-13, which hurts Michigan's RPI.

#3 Duke and #15 Syracuse are playing on ESPNU right now. Syracuse leads 11-10

#2 Maryland plays #20 North Carolina at 10:00 PM tonight

That’s defending national champion Maryland. They also have elite soccer and field hockey and women’s lacrosse and women’s basketball. Maryland is actually good at a lot of sports and historically good basketball program.

People might not like that md joined the big ten but they don’t deserve to get lumped in with Rutgers. They’ve won more things than Nebraska has

Michigan has 15 shots. 9 on goal. UMBC with 18 shots 10 of them on goal. Heidt in goal for UofM. Michigan leads 13-6 on ground balls and 7-1 on face offs. Retrievers are 0 for 1 on the only man up situation of the half.

Michigan wins! This puts them at 7-2. Next week is #2 Maryland in Ann Arbor. Even though Michigan beat #4 Notre Dame, it seems likely that this will be a curb stomping by Maryland. Go Blue! Beat the Terps!

EVERY time Michigan countered with the next goal. That’s huge especially when on the road. But the story of the game was Tommy Heidt’s robbery on 13 saves of 19 shots. He stoned UMBC from point blank with 3:15 to go when it was 8-5. UMBC would go on to score the next one but who knows how it would’ve played out in a 2 goal game with over 3 min left? Solid win. On to the B1G 10 stretch

arg, according to livestats we outshot them 14-2 in the 2nd period. that doesnt seem completely accurate, but still annoying to let them tie it up. 1 more period, lets go blue!!!

woops, this was meant for the hockey thread!
