The last 24 hours...

Submitted by Above and Beyond on
Well, folks. We are down to the last 24 hours until Mr. Harbaugh leads our beloved team onto the field for the first official time as our head coach. So, how are you coping? What are your feelings about this now that it is so close? Delete if desired and neg away if this thread is too cliché. I'm just curious how others are feeling now that we are so close. I, for one, am really nervous, but also the most excited I have been for a football season in the longest time. EDIT: I am really hoping our fans invade that stadium a la OSU fans do for EVERY road game.

eager is the word I would describe. I used to get really nervous before games. then, over the past few years that nervousness has turned into melancholy as my expectations lowered. But now, eager. I believe there will come a point this season or next where I can say "we are back!". I am eager for that moment to arrive. then, I hope the nervousness returns.

Leaving for the airport in about 12hrs ...sort of surreal in some ways. Can't believe the season with Harbaugh as coach is here. It's a huge factor in deciding to go to Salt Lake City. I just want to be there for it. Go Blue!!

My very first game watching UM, indeed first game as a UM fan, was my first game freshman year -- against Miami (YTM) -- Bernie Kossr was their QB. And Jim Harbaugh was ours. So started my fandom with JMFH.

So this is very personal to me. It has come full circle. I am not exactly excited -- I am satisfied that we are in the right hands. The only hands.

Go Blue.

Because of the change of leadership, there is a level of excitement that hasn't been with the program for a very long time.  That, plus it's football season makes for a great day tomorrow.

I'd really, really like to win tomorrow.....just because.  But if we don't, I'll be there next week and for the remainider of the home games....and life goes on.  I have faith that James Joseph will do what is necessary to make us winners again and restore us to our rightful place at the top of the B1G and beyond.

I saw Harbaugh run out in Denver as the Niners HC last Fall and remember hoping he'd be the next MICHIGAN coach. Can't wait to see the Team and Coach run out tomorrow..... Might just be some emotions!

my employer shouldn't expect much productivity out any of us tomorrow. I peeked at MGoBlog while 'working' today a lot more than usual. Might as well just call in sick Thursday. Right now the butterflies inside are already going fucking wild in anticipation of tomorrow's game.

"is your Michigan bloggy club-thing in full meltdown yet?"

Bloggy Club?  What the fucking FUCK WOMAN!

This isn't a bloggy club, it's the message board of the BEST MICHIGAN BLOG ON THE INTERNET!!!

I have no clue how I'm gonna sleep tonight or make it through the workday and workout. I'm nervous, excited, and just ready to run through a wall.
Please let it be 28-7 good guys at this time tomorrow. 22 hours and 32 minutes. An eternity.

I did not like a Thursday game when I first heard about it some time ago. Now though, I am ecstatic because I can't wait any longer to see what Harbaugh has done. Win or lose, ( win very much preferred) I want to see this group of players have a chance to redeem themselves and start Michigan back on the path we should be on.

I am like a kid on Christmas Eve or Easter morning. This has to have been the longest off season in history..

Harbaugh and Wheatley are really back, I can't wait.

kinda excited for the all white look. i think it will make the best part of the uniform--the winged helmet--stand out even more. Plus jerseys always look amazing and intimidating when a great team wears them. Harbaugh will build that team!!! HARBAUGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

but idk if we will be that team this year. Really pumped but at the same time worried that our season will be effectively over after the first few weeks like last year. The last 8 years have scarred us all. I just can't take another let down year!   Anything less than 8-4 and i'll be very disappointed.

I'm bored...I can't take this shit anymore...why not?

1st Qtr
7-0 Michigan: 4 yard TD run by D. Smith (6:40 remaining)
7-7: 2 yard TD run by D. Booker (5:01 remaining)
*blown M coverage, quick strike by Utah gets them down in M redzone, score a few plays later
10-7 Utah: 56 yard FG by A. Phillips (:00 remaining)
End of 1st Qtr

2nd Qtr
10-10: 26 yard FG by K. Allen (:04 remaining)
*would've loved to have gotten 7, but run out of timeouts and have to settle for FG
Halftime

3rd Qtr
(8:49) J. Peppers forced fumble on Utah screen pass / Recovered by Michigan (D. Morgan)
17-10 Michigan: 1 yard TD run by D. Smith (6:24 remaining)
*set up by 1st down screen pass to T. Isaac which results in big gain
(2:28) J. Rudock INT on own 34 (M. Williams - no return)
End of 3rd Qtr

4th Qtr
17-13 Michigan: 42 yard FG by A. Phillips (14:54 remaining)
24-13 Michigan: 31 yard TD pass by J. Rudock to J. Butt (10:23 remaining)
24-16 Michigan: 38 yard FG by A. Phillips (3:51 remaining)
(:48) T. Wilson INT on Michigan 35 (D. Hill - 4 yard return)
Final

I think it's a game that defenses muck up a little bit similar to 2010 Michigan/Notre Dame (Denard - "shoelaces floppin' in the wind!"). If you remember that game, it wasn't low scoring, but there was no flow at any point in the game. I see a similar type game with a choppy flow where both teams feel like they could've played better.

Freakin 8:30 kickoff. What the hell am I going to do with myself all day long? I dont want to start drinking to early so I dont pass out at halftime. I missed the hole second half of the Penn State game last season. My girlfriend was pissed and so was I. Any suggestions on how to pass the time sober?
