Kevin Wilson: new OC at OSU

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Kevin Wilson officially announced as the new OC at OSU. That was fast. This is probably why Ed Warinner is gone to Minnesota.

Welcome, Coach Wilson!#GoBucks #9Strong

you I'll be concerned when he gets the next Deshaun Watson (a real pocket passer that can run) or Lamar Jackson (an incredibly dynamic runner that can pass well enough from the pocket).

Until then, stack the box, play man coverage, and force them to beat you through the air.

There is a big difference between throwing the ball and passing the ball.

Meyer has running qb's that can throw/arm punt the ball. When he gets a real passing game with a mobile QB, then let's worry about their offense.

Urban has an all-star team every year and has never once developed a QB that can beat you with his arm.

Until he finds the next Deshaun Watson and develops him, I am completely comfortable with Don Brown and 4 and 5 star recruits shutting them down. They can put up 70 on any mediocre team all day, but play a legit defense and we have seen this story before.

The real concern is UM developing a dominant O-line and running game to go along with a downfield passing game. Harb-offense coming to fruition is what is truly needed, and our lack of O-line recruiting is what concerns me, because OSU's defense is the real problem, not their gimmicky offense which has been shut down repeatedly by MSU, UM and Clemson this year, and any well-coached talented team.

When he finds his next Cardale Jones...catches lightning in a bottle with a downfield passer, then we should worry.

I got bad vibes from Kevin Wilson's first week on the job at IU when he cursed out the RAs in the dorm he was temporarily staying in. Ultimately it might not have been a huge deal, but it came across as "I'm more important than you," which rubbed some people in the Hoosier State wrong.

the incident which occurred on Dec. 14, a week after Wilson had been hired as new football coach. According to the report, Wilson returned to his suite at McNutt Resident Center late in the evening and stopped to ask the RAs for for directions after getting lost. The RAs asked Wilson to wait until they had finished dealing with students who were being charged with an alcohol violation, Wilson allegedly cursed at them.Glass says Wilson apologized the next day.

I basically forgot about IU football for a few years, but then, it didn't surprise me that he was ushered out, allegedly, for player mistreatment.

Looks like he'll be a good fit in downtown Columbus.

****ding ding ding ding**** The gossip among the Bloomington faculty is that he got canned due to his alcohol use and that the player abuse was more of a cover. I've heard multiple stories of him supplying liquor and partying with his players. Many rumors going back years that he was pulled over plastered around Bloomington and in Martinsville.

Did people expect Urban Meyer to hire Mike DeBord?? Kevin Wilson can design offenses and is a talented football mind who'll be good at Ohio State. We'll be good too, so bring it on.

Now people will point out the kerfuffle about Wilson mistreating players, but that's just proof positive at what a good cultural fit he'll be in Columbus. Again this is the same fanbase who lionizes Woody Hayes - one of them tried to excuse it by pointing out that Charlie Bauman made a taunting gesture after his interception.

Howard has been the second best rookie RB in NFL, most years he'd be by far the best. In fact, I think he'd have Elliott's yards if he were in Dallas. I think Indiana had some guys, like Howard, who really were much better than their stars.

Indiana's scheme never seemed that great to me. Howard did.

Wilson is a piece of shit and I'm not surprised OSU hired him. They hired that child rape enabler too. Too bad Sandusky is in prison Urban would love to hire him as an analyst.

You could never hire a person who departed from their previous job due to allegations of verbally abusing, and in some cases jeopardizing the health of members of the organization. I am trying to think of a scenario in 'the real world' in which this happens. I can only hope the allegations were completely unfounded.
