They have become the favorite for Maliq Carr & Cameron Martinez.
I would take the above two over Brahman in a heartbeat. There are 5x the athlete he is.
I guess he doesn’t want to sit behind Sainristil and Jackson for 3 years.
I think he's a WR not a slot.
Gattis probably wanted to go in a different direction with WRs
I'm curious as to what direction that is. Weve recruited a lot of the slot types and also seem to be going after the 6'3+ types also
Think Taco Pants meets Phil McConkey.
I think you answered your own question. Branham is not a super quick slot type (Jackson, Sarinstil), nor is he a big bodied 6'3"+ type.
Not sure where Kent fits in, yet we still took him last year.
And George Johnson III. If we hadnt taken a few around 5'11-6'0 then I'd see the slot dot and tree approach. Obviously they have a plan so I'll wait until later to see what that is.
Gattis probably wanted to go in a different direction with WRs
Good luck to the young man. Hope he finds a good fit for his game.
Bummer. There was alot to like about this kid.
I liked the kids tape, and he seemedlike a really solid kid too, I wonder what the story is and hope he doesn’t end up in red and grey.

I have a hard time worrying about decommits and commits this early in the cycle
Most of our recruiting success will depend on how the team performs during the season

If he was "processed," focusing on an alleged lack of speed is a thin reed to base that on.
His PR in the 200m is 21.87; for comparison, that's .87 slower than the Michigan HS record of 21.0—which was set in 1984. Being less than a second slower than a record that's stood for 35 years doesn't make you too slow for football.
Besides, if elite speed is what differentiates the best football players from the also-rans, why are there only two football names of note—Wilcher and Wheatley—in the Michigan HS track records?
Yes, quickness is as important as straight-line speed, but somebody who's running those 200 times isn't molasses out of the blocks.
If it's other aspects of being a receiver that got him "processed"—deficiencies in route-running, blocking, catching with reliability—it seems odd that it would have taken Gattis four months to make the decision that he wasn't good enough. Branham's offer list isn't high-level, which perhaps says something about the evaluation of his overall talent, but did Gattis wait until Branham visited to tell him he wasn't going to play for Michigan?
Maybe there are other factors at work in the decommitment that point to something other than being "processed" for lack of ability. Coaches can't give their side of things, so it may be a while before we get the full story, if ever.
