John Beilein vs. Krusty The Clown
Who would you rather have as a coach?
(a) A guy who has an awesome laugh but was once accused of armed robbery (Krusty)
(b) A guy who is an awesome coach but is a mediocre recruiter? (John Beilein)
Now, answer again, assuming that (a) usually will beat (b).
For me, I'll go with (b) every time. Go Blue!
* Ignore for this question the fact that Krusty is a fictional comedian.
(can we stop with the stupid comparisons now?)

Krusty's enormous feet will keep getting onto the floor and drawing technical fouls. As a result, this is a no brainer. Awful thread.

Plus Krusty's assistant coach was convicted of attempted murder (sideshow Bob). Clearly he doesn't have control of his program.

I forgot that Bob is actually the one with giant feet and that Krusty just wears big shoes. Luckily I don't think the Simpsons is funny so I don't feel so bad about myself.

Don't have a cow man.

I'd rather have a cow than milk a horse.

"Hey, I heard they put a new McDonalds in down the street. Yeah, they have them same things as Krusty Burger, like these Krusty Partially Gelatinated Non-dairy Gum-based Beverages. Except they don't call them that. No, they call them 'shakes'."
I vote for Krusty.

you just don't know what you're gettin'

Krusty's gigantic blue pube-fro would scare away recruits, not attract them.

I'll take the Hebrew clown who gets to the tourney 3/4 years.

I know Coach B isn't killing it with top 10 recruits, but, having followed bball recruiting fairly closely for a while, it certainly seems that we are now in the mix for higher rated players more so than we've been in years.
It's possible that we end up with 2 top 50 players and 3 top 100 for next season. We might not be landing the ultra-premier players, but we're at least in the conversation where we hadn't been before. As for the one-and-done players...forget it. My (excellent) sources tell me that most of the top 20 requires payment of some form either directly or to a family member/friend all throughout the recruiting process. It's actually small money, but it drips and drips. Read a letter? $1000. Answer a call? $1000. Visit campus? $3000. Etc. Michigan is clear with any kid requesting money that it isn't going to happen.
All that being said, I still have love for both Krusty and Coach B.
well, kind of.
