"Roy Williams and Jim Calhoun will join John Beilein and Lon Kruger in a star-studded cast of coaches who will be inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in November, it was announced Wednesday."

"Beilein won 829 games between stops at Erie Community College, Nazareth, Le Moyne, Canisius, Richmond, West Virginia and Michigan. The latter is where he became the school's winningest coach and had a pair of Final Four appearances."

That’s an incredible honor - and an especially elusive one for a guy without a national championship to his name. Beilein is more than worthy though, and his unique path through every single level of basketball has been an incredible journey. So proud to have him as the winningest Michigan bball coach.

Talk about someone who deserves the position name of "coach."  Beilein may personify that as much, or more than, anyone.  He recruited a few top players but primarily grew lesser players and helped make many of them NBA draft eligible.  All the while winning most games and even reaching the heights of the league and March Madness.  With class!  More so than any of the winning may be how he coached the team back from the near-disaster airplane crash.

I don't care how many championships someone else may have won as "coach," John Beilein leads the way!  Hall of Fame "coach" well deserved!

Congratulations, Coach.

Michigan was so fortunate to have him as a coach, for all that he accomplished with his teams and for how well he represented Michigan.

He embodies the qualities we value about Michigan: accomplishments, class, honesty.

Writing this, it occurs to me that perhaps even his departure embodied another University of Michigan quality, the aspiration to challenge ourselves.

While we hear nothing about college sports these days that doesn't involve greed, cheating, and entitlement, it's good to remember that it also gave us John Beilein.  He is a decent person who thrived in a sea of corruption.  The craziest aspect of his career (other than the many flavorful subs) was his decision to take his brand of decency and work ethic to the Cleveland Cavaliers, only to be blown out in mid-season.

Congrats to Coach Beilein! Thank you for all of hard work and long hours you put in for us at Michigan to totally rebuild the MBB program but also your efforts at your prior stops. Hard work indeed pays off. Well deserved!!

Congratulations Coach Beilein. Very well deserved.

Let’s have a Coach Beilein night at Crisler this season or maybe in front of 100,000+ at a football game.
