There are no shortage of people willing to bully excellence.
Expect to be bullied. Most people are at some level competitive and also a little insecure. They will make snide, bullying remarks as a way of life. Reassure people that there will be plenty of opportunity to them to excel as we move along.

This kids perspective on life is pretty incredible. He will do well in life with that perspective whether in football or not. Go Blue!

If you've played sports long enough, you will likely appreciate what the calm demeaner of a leader will do for the rest of the team; it's infectious. When everyone in that huddle can relax and play like it's a backyard football game, it becomes very powerful.
