Interesting question... both are very productive players but are somewhat limited because they're not the prototype for their position. Denard's not a pure passer and Kovacs got some athletic limitations in coverage.
The QB replacement options will almost certainly be less productive (individually) in the short term but should allow Michigan to run a purer version of Borges's offense and better utilize the skill position players.
There's good, young talent at safety already on the roster and more on the way. You'll lose consistency and leadership but probably gain range and athleticism. Jarrod Wilson and Dymonte have the potential to be the best safety pairing since Ray & Hendricks if they develop over the next few years.
I'll say we'll miss Denard most just because the O Line is looking so unertain next year and he's got the ability to make so many things happen on his own.
