I'm looking forward to the defensive UFR. Barrett looked like he had a good game and was much more decisive attacking the hole. It'll be interesting to hear Seth's take on why they were so successful on the WR hitch routs. It looked like the rest of the defense wasn't flowing to the ball as well as they have in past games.
I've watched all episodes this year. I do like Jansen but am indifferent about Karsch. Brandstatter loves Michigan football and he was great on this program.

Alex tweeted during the game pretty much what I was thinking regarding the defense: did our coaches even watch any Indiana film? They were doing the same thing they’ve done all year, and we played the entire first half like we thought they’d be something different.

On the radio broadcast Jansen asked Jason Avant (their sideline reporters) about how to better neutralize those. Avant said that the first player on the defense, usually Sanristil or Moore, needs to be more aggressive and physical to disrupt the block and buy time for reinforcements. He felt like both guys were getting controlled too easy by the blocker.
After so many years with bigger and more physical slot guys like Dax, Peppers, or Hudson this seemed logical to me and maybe the first time we have seen some of the transition costs. But whatever we did in the second half seemed to nerf that

Hoping one of Keon Sabb, Zeke Berry or Damani Dent can be one of those guys in the future as the next in line of great space players.
I also think what helped was the pressure with sacks/throwaways put Indiana way behind schedule to where you run the risk of throwing a 3-yard screen and its quickly 3rd and long. I thought Minter and the DL as a whole found another gear in that 2nd Half. PSU will be a great test of getting off their blocks on the outside with Washington and Tinsley in their screen game. A very key matchup in next week's game.

I'm going with the theory that the coaches wanted to rep outside zone, no matter what. As if they figured they'd be able to physically dominate Indiana anyway, may as well set the slider all the way to "difficult".
Which of course is a dumb thing to do so the theory is almost certainly wrong, but so is just running into blitzball over and over.

I occasionally drift over to rcmb to see what misery they're in, especially this season. But I went yesterday to see what they thought of their coach at this point... And saw a thread about Mike Hart.
Let's just say it was pretty shitty overall with a lot of poor taste jokes and not at all what you'd expect when someone has a serious medical issue arise.
Those comments are almost non-existent on this side in similar circumstances. We are not saints, but the degree of negativity and lack of compassion was disturbing.
They are a petty, angry, and miserable bunch.

You were surprised that shitty people were being shitty? 90% of MSU fans are garbage, just like OSU fans. I live in ohio so I know this is true

While certainly not wanting to be an OSU apologist, just for the record, the Mike Hart thread on 11Ws was pretty much all wishing him a speedy recovery.

Carrying a chip on your shoulder 24x7 and living in your moms basement can make one cranky and I’ll-mannered I guess

Interesting to note Coach Harbaugh mentioning Blake might belong in the Heisman conversation as the season develops. Thoughts and prayers with Coach Hart for full and speedy recovery.
