I went to see Cass Tech yesterday (Hollowell/Royce/Richardson and...)

First, yes I set the DVR on my TV for the michigan game, but at Cass Tech they announce the score from the Big House so I knew the outcome. (Nice cheer from the crowd at Cass when the final was announced)

I went to see Hollowell, Royce Jenkins-Stone (2011) and Terry Richardson (2011) but was also really impressed with Laron Taylor, LB (2011). Fordson runs a semi wing-T/triple option type offense so Hollowell and Richardson didn't get much thrown at them.  In fact I think Fordson threw 6 passes the entire game and most were after the Cass starters were pulled from the game.  Hollowell looks well built to me...just looks thick.  He didn't do much stats wise but he looks like a D1 ready type kid.  Richardson on the other hand looks very small.  Legs, arms and neck are skinny.  The kid is quick but I can't see him in D1 football but Les Miles and Nick Saban disagree with me.  I watched Royce close the whole game and was very impressed. Needs a bit of work getting off of blocks and sometimes took on a blocker just to hit them as opposed to going after the ball carrier but overall this kid is a stud.  Looked about 6'1'' maybe 215ish and is cut.  Had about 10 tackles and made a big play when he drilled a Fordson RB forcing a fumble in the red zone. Mean SOB too! Those were the three guys I went to see but in watching Royce I was also seeing a lot of #8.  Finally I asked who he was and it was Laron Taylor.  He plays next to Royce and I was impressed with him as well.  Not as big as Royce but seemed to move a little better and was all over the field.  I don't know if Michigan plans to offer this kid but he seems like a D1 LB to me.  If not LB the kid could be a mean SS for somebody.  Anyway, those are my thoughts from Cass, thought you might want to hear them.  I'll probably be back down there next week when they play Macomb Dakota (who was in the stands and getting all kinds of shit from the Cass crowd)

Certainly anyone on defense could help.  Even if Richardson is small now, and doesn't get much bigger, once we have a reasonable starting secondary, we can afford to redshirt kids and get them ready to play.

Laron Taylor is a guy that a lot of people forget about, but he's a pretty ideal spur. He plays a hybrid linebacker/safety spot for Cass Tech, and he's been on Michigan's radar. He came to a camp, and GERG reportedly kept him after to work with him. If they want a spur in the 2012 class, it could very easily be Taylor.

EDIT: Upon further research, it at least sounds like Michigan's the favorite as well. Of note, he was at the Notre Dame game last year, and I think he's been to a couple this year with TRich/Jenkins-Stone/Hollowell

Stone, Richardson and Taylor are all class of 2012. But it is neat that you got to watch them. I don't know if I wouldve sacrificed watching the Michigan game for that though.

Kishon #2 is a small shifty type of back/slot ninja.  He made an awesome catch for a TD that really put the game away for Cass.  Not as fast as Richardson and seemed to run poor routes (rounded everything off and ran into coverage at least two or three times).

And yes I know Richardson/Royce/Taylor are 2012 guys (juniors) just messed up the years. Sorry about that.

Also, I went to the game after watching the first half of the Michigan game and DVR'd the thing expecting to watch the rest once I got home.  But Cass being a Michigan pipeline announced the score...and like I said the crowd gave a nice cheer when the final was announced.

I'm heading down next weekend to watch them play Macomb Dakota and will give a wrap up around that game too.  Hopefully Hollowell and Richardson will be put to the test a bit more.
