I just spoke to Ricardo Miller
My roomie here in Gainesville just graduated from Orlando Dr. Phillips and is really good friends with Ricardo. Tonight I was able to speak with him on the phone, and it was an absolute pleasure. He really is a great kid. Very articulate and intelligent. He mentioned how excited he was to play for Rich Rodriguez and how gracious he is to have the opportunity to lead Michigan's class of 2010. We chitted and chatted about various Michigan-related subjects(said Jeremy Jackson and Trevor Robinson were locks. We kinda knew, thought itd be worth mentioning), and the convo ended with him saying he didn't want to disappoint me and all the other Michigan fans out there. He's more than held up his end by committee to the University of Michigan, academically and athletically. His 3.8 GPA is not a fake, btw, and apparently he's on track for a 4.0 this year.
Starstruck by a 16 year old. I guess that's kind of sad on my part. Oh well. I can't help my inner-homer making his presence felt.

It should read "I said that would be impossible. He's more than held up his end by committing to the university, academically and athletically"

"Very articulate and intelligent."
Why does no one ever make a point to say this about white players?

I've heard quite a few people say that about Threet.
*shrug*

I have about as much fun with racial double standards as anybody, but the kid really is intelligent - from a 16 yr old standpoint, not a black guy-who-doesnt-sound-like-lil-Wayne standpoint. Folks down here in Florida, especially black people, have a serious twang in their voice. He's got none of it.
