How to watch Saturday's game on phone or tablet

Submitted by GPCharles on October 22nd, 2020 at 12:08 PM

Ok, so I am in my mid-60s, not too tech savvy and will be in a location w/o a tv on Saturday evening.  So....how can I watch the game on my phone or tablet?  HELP!!

If you get ESPN you can stream on the ESPN application - just use your cable provider login info to authenticate.

If you don't get ESPN, you can stream from other sites (like sportsurge.net).

Not true.

ESPN is one of Xfinity's TV GO channels and can be accessed over wireless carrier networks or remote WiFi networks.

I watch it in Japan using a VPN.

One can also record the game on to the Xfinity cloud DVR and watch it anytime.

As usual, your brilliance is broken (non-existent IMO).

What service do you have on your home TV? If it is a streaming service or cable you should be able to get an app on your phone. (I used to have Charter Spectrum cable and I could watch from any computer or mobile device. Xfinity is the same AFAIK).

And who is the person responsible for you being in a location without a TV? You should remove them from your life asap.

If you have a streaming service that you use for your TV then just put their app on your phone or tablet.

ESPN APP.

It is on local TV (ABC) so a lot of times you can find those online for free. Also, there are apps like locast, which show local stations. Locast gives you like two hours ad free and then they show you annoying ads every 15 minutes asking for you to donate to them. This would honestly be my last choice.

Sportsurge.net works pretty well. It's a site that has pretty much every game. It will for sure have Michigan's. Just have an ad blocker installed.

A member from this board does run a discord channel with all the games. Sometimes he will post here to invite new people. Discord is an app. I don't have much information on the channel but maybe the admin of it will post here before kickoff.

Unfortunately, you can't access the ESPN App if you don't get ESPN from your cable provider. We cut back on our Xfinity of Crap offerings a few months ago, which means we no longer have ESPN or BTN. I tried to download the ESPN App to my phone to watch boxing last weekend, and since we don't have ESPN on cable I was out of luck.

1) Google "Sportssurge" It's sportssurge.net, but the .net may change

2) Click on link

3) Choose the Michigan game from the streams, start at the top (they will tell you if iPad is supported)

4) you have to click the play arrow 2-4 times (random tabs will pop up, just close them and don't click anything on them, don't update Adobe..., just close the popup tabs)

5) Watch game and enjoy the win

If you’re going to stream live tv just make sure you are on a WiFi connection.  If not, double check your data plan.  Don’t want a surprise on your next bill.

On your phone, it's easy: peek under the rotary dial.

A little more work with the tablet: you'll need the BIG box of Crayola crayons, so you can draw each play to see it.

Normally we all hate on "where can I watch..." threads like these, but in such a crazy year this kind of normalcy is the most pleasant thing I've seen in a long time. Genuinely made me smile to see this.

Michigan Football is coming.

If you have a television provider (i.e. Comcast, AT&T, DIRECTV) download the app or the app of the channel the game is on (i.e. ESPN) and login with your service provider username and password (if you don't have one set up, set one up through the provider's app first); or honestly I've had luck googling individuals streaming the game and going from there sometimes
