How many free $$ in M advertising as result of "The Process 2"

Submitted by iawolve on

While we were all hanging on every word from the Bay Area, there where many more doing the same over the period of the last month due to the NFL coverage that augmented the story. Granted, it was a number of weeks of bashing our search as disorganized and failing, but that constant drum beat in the news created a fever pitch over the last week resulting in the WW leader basically running an infomercial for us today during and around the press conference resulting in the best questions ever (what do you think about my coach?) at the bowl pressers with opposing coaches. I shudder to think how much you would have to pay for this type of marketing and brand awareness. If it worked out the wrong way, it might have been bad, but wow, we are dominating the media at the moment and it is awesome. Another tip of the hat to Hackett for running this operation.

I was reading through /49ers and it sounds like people who were never really college football fans are now going to root for Michigan because of Harbaugh.

Even better, BTN said earlier that Ohio State was annoyed with it because this is Media Day for the Sugar Bowl.

I think I am definately OK with any annoyed coaches and/or players from Ohio St.

During the Ohio state Alabama game considering both coaches talked about him in they pressers and Meyer will have to coach against him every year. Should be some great free positive exposure in a game otherwise we'd have zero mention in.

Impression value varies

Depending upon the quality of the impression (e.g. A commercial vs a sponsored logo), TV impressions are generally between $50 and $100 per thousand (CPM). Front page banners on ESPN are $35 CPM. Most of the banners here on mgoblog are bought through an exchange and go for between $2 and $4 based on who YOU (the target) is.

We had a lot of impressions yesterday. So... I'd go with a fricking shit ton. We certainly earned a good deal of mindshare on the day.
