Hockey Hello: Drew Schock (LHD, 2025)

Michigan got a commit from Drew Schock today.  LHD out of Wisconsin, recently selected to be on the NTDP for the next two years.  Two point a game defenseman in his 15/16 year old league.  His dad, Harold Schock III, was a walk on on the 1996 championship team.  Would be on campus fall of '25, is the second "5*" for whatever that means in hockey in the last month for Narauto.

Was introduced to an M hockey player during move-in last week.

I didn't want to be too much of a creepy old guy, so I just congratulated him on the season and asked him how the team was looking despite losing so much talent.  He gave me the "next man up" answer...which is always the right answer.

Only other thing I asked him about was Narauto.  The player said that he's "the real deal" and that "he'll be at Michigan as long as he wants."

Don't feel comfortable revealing the player's name, but I will say that he'll be a great interviewee when he hits the NHL in the next year or so.

I'm happy to see this. Since Quinn Hughes, we have been spoiled with elite puck moving defensemen: York (kind of), Power, Luke Hughes, Seamus Casey. This may keep the tradition going and the Michigan style is so dependent on elite puck moving D.
