Help finding a pair of Rose Bowl Tickets

Submitted by StephenRKass on December 26th, 2023 at 2:25 PM

I haven't put up a post on the board in well more than a year, but my wife shocked me Christmas Day. (Beth is my avatar pic, a few years back.) She told me she is willing to go to the Rose Bowl. I can manage to get out to LA, but as a preacher in the Chicago area, I can't (or won't) spend thousands for tickets. Beth wouldn't go for that.

If anyone here has a pair of tickets they'd be willing to let go to me at face value, even a good bit more, but less than market cost, please contact me at srkass at fifcc dot org. Or, if you can suggest another way I can look for tickets, let me know. Thanks much! Steve. (I suppose most all of the readers here would also love to go, but I at least have to try, and this is the only way I know how to look.)

Hmm, questionable.  It's not as simple as, "oh well, you snooze, you lose."  Sorry SRK, you got hijacked.

There are unspoken rules of engagement within this tight-knit community.  Respect the OP's thread, intent/situation and don't hijack when there are other means.  Not cool.

To set the record straight I did not sell the tickets to UMgoblue2008… I did sell the tickets through the alumni association, which I would recommend everyone to go look there as there seems to be a decent amount of people selling tickets.

OP emailed me later in the evening after I had already sold the tickets.

Also, remember that the Michigan Alumni Association has a ticket exchange. Link:  https://alumni.umich.edu/athletics/alumni-ticket-exchange/

You have to be very quick on the trigger.  I have contacted four different sellers and the tickets are usually gone in 15 minutes or less.  However, most are willing to sell at their cost and without added fees.

Currently, the least expensive seats for the game are in the $489/each to $535 range (includes fees) on TickPick.  These are endzone corner seats usually above Row 60.  Least expensive Michigan sideline seats are about $850 each in the upper rows.

This won't help the OP since it's just 1, but I have 1 I'm trying to sell to a Michigan fan for the Rose Bowl in section 14H row 19. Looking to get $495, since that's the cheapest pre-fees price I see on the secondary market in that section - this way we can both avoid fees. Reply here if interested, I'll check back

UPDATE from OP:  Wow, things are really falling together in a wonderful way.

  • Thursday, I found out I "should" be able to get there and back from and to the Chicago area on United and American Airlines with my wife. (pray that Beth and I would both be able to get out there on Sunday afternoon.)
  • Friday morning another mgopartisan graciously and generously sold me a pair of excellent tickets, a bit below face value, in the Michigan section.
  • I did a student internship out in the area 30 years ago, when I went to my first Rose Bowl. I have parking and seats set up 2 minutes from the parade route with old friends.
  • We have a day and a half to spend in the LA area Tuesday and Wednesday, heading back Wednesday night.

Things could scarcely be better. As mentioned above, the only weak link is getting out there on Sunday. Thanks to all who were willing to help a fellow Michigan fan out!
