Congrats and welcome to Josh. I'm looking forward to the upcoming post on strategy and numbers. It seems like we have so many high level kids still looking hard at us and we are running out of space. This will be Harbaughs most talented class ever...until next year.

At this rate, it's gonna be the Fab 45.

Just kidding, this isn't the SEC.

Hopefully Metellus is the first of many from Flanagan and Flanagan becomes what Pahokee once was for Michigan.

Walkon? Eventually we're going to run out of space for the bigger recruits interested in us if we accept commitments from these under the radar guys. We can't go to 30 commits since we're not the sec.

Congrats to Josh! Glad to have him aboard.

That puts us at 16 commits now, which is two above what we currently have space for. Obviously there will be attrition so there's not much to worry about there.

Also, according to this 247 thread, David Reese was visiting Louisville today, the school he was committed to before Michigan. There are allegedly rumors of him and/or Dele Harding thinking of decommitting, which would bring us right back down to 14 players.

This thread is the only source I've seen, but it's not the most outlandish idea, since Harding committed to Hoke and Reese was already committed to Louisville at one point. Allegedly Reese also wants to be told he's going to be a LB, not a FB, and with how many LBs we already have committed/are recruiting, that might not be a given.

We shall see - I would not be surprised.  Harding however was at one of the recent camps (PA?) so it would have been interesting to have been a fly on that wall - except it was outdoors and there were no walls.  But you know what I mean.  Reese was down there in the AL camp too.

It's a long way to Feb.

As for # of commits I think most expect about 7-8 openings to arrive by next Feb.  A lot of 4 year guys in the 2012 class who have not played meaningful football wont get be asked back for a 5th year (guys like Hayes and Heitzman have played way more than theese 2012 dudes) and there are a few medicals and then I'd say some potential names in the 2013s.  And you are going to get 1-2 Ferns Countess types where you are WTF!?

I dont see us oversigning - I just see a lot of relatively obvious names leaving the program - most of which are simply 4 year guys who are done and have their degree hopefully and then some medicals.   Harbaugh wants those scholarships working for us rather than fallow.

Harding I could understand, but I'd be sad about losing Reese. A durable local prospect who's teammates with another target would be a tough loss.

ah thats unfortunate if true.  reese could have decent potential at FB but i dont think hes athletic enough to be guaranteed spot on LB depth chart.  he plays hard and seems like a good, tough kid, but other targets like jonathon jones (and commit like dytarious johnson) are much better LB prospects.

i really like harbaughs attitude re recruiting athletes and kids trying out at desired positions before coaches deciding where they best help the team.  most reported that the coaches would give reese a look on D, though they envision him at FB - if louisvilles willing to guarantee him several years working at LB then maybe thats his best move.  best of luck either way

My head is spinning. First Bredeson, now Metellus, possibly two more from Flanagan? WOW!

Is that a set of triple commits from Flanagan?

Or triplet commits?

Or, if we count Bredeson, quads?

I don't care what is called, it is all good, and Ace is putting in OT.
