Northwestern could pull something off if they stay disciplined on both sides of the ball, but Purdue loses by five touchdowns... Gundy does something crazy as well.

to get into the Purdue game for free... Looks like a ghost town there.

Go U Northwestern! Purdue is a lost cause.

Other than not being hungover, that was the best way my day could have started.

Wow. What a great way to start the game.

That was one ballsy fake.
January 1st, 2013 at 12:12 PM ^
Damn. Purdue just ran a fake punt from their own 15. Clearly a non-interim coach will never make that call.
January 1st, 2013 at 12:15 PM ^
The problem is we don't want NW jumping out to a lead. As we all know, when you go down by double digits against the Wildcats you have them right where you want them.

Good work Cats....now dont blow it in the 4th

This Tyler Russell guy had a look of terror on his face after that int.

sadly Purdue down 7-0 and is pretty much done for the day.

Has there been a single bowl game this season that's sold out? End zones of every game I've watched have been pretty much empty.

Is this Heart of Dallas a new bowl?

Are a whole lot of teams bringing out matte helmets for bowl games or do all these teams usually wear them? I actually like the ones NW is wearing, but I'm not a big fan of MSU's.

January 1st, 2013 at 12:39 PM ^
They've been wearing matte for a couple of years now.
January 1st, 2013 at 12:29 PM ^
Seriously, how the hell did we give up 52 points to Mississippi State? I know it was two years ago but that game still ticks me off....
January 1st, 2013 at 12:32 PM ^
Because we had the worst defense in school history. Even Indiana shredded our D that year.

lol SEC speed
January 1st, 2013 at 12:41 PM ^
I love how football coaches make sure to cover their mouths when they call a play. Do opposing staffs really employ lip-readers?
January 1st, 2013 at 12:43 PM ^
SEC speed is being outgained by a shade over 2:1 in the Gator Bowl at the moment -NW has already racked up 117 yards to Mississippit State's 56 yards.
January 1st, 2013 at 12:44 PM ^
What's more, NW has had one less possession because of the pick-six.
January 1st, 2013 at 12:48 PM ^
NW settling for field goals early after missing some open throws near the end zone. I'd say it could come back to haunt them, but given that it's NW it is actually a certainty that it will come back to haunt them.

January 1st, 2013 at 2:53 PM ^
Nebraska up at the half. Wouldn't have guessed that one.
Purdue being murdered. Everyone guessed that.
NW has a lead in the fourth quarter with first and goal. By how much will they lose by?

Miss St is wildly overrated, but what a great win for NW. Double digit win for the Big Ten over the SEC.
January 1st, 2013 at 3:50 PM ^
I think today shows that there isn't this huge gap between the Big Ten and SEC like everyone assumes. NW stomped MSU, and M amd NU are both in tight games in the fourth quarter. And remember, every Big Ten team is playing two bowls over their head due to OSU and PSU not being eligible. So the SEC had the advantage to begin with.
