Hawaii in danger of dropping football

I remember when Hawaii made it to a bowl game here in New Orleans a few years ago. Best fans ever. Swarmed the city and everyone had a great time. Unlike many other programs which play bowl games here, some of whose fans are professionally stupid and endlessly cause problems.

I remember when they were a solid team and went to the sugar bowl only to get curb stomped by Georgia.

A lot of coaches who were looking forward to a trip to Hawaii are going to be bummed.

As always, there are multiple factors involved. The stadium is old, rusty, large and off-campus. The team has not been good since June Jones left. Every home game is on PPV which has really decreased attendance. The UH administration and government officials are incompetent and mostly corrupt. There are many more activities to do on a Saturday, although high school football is huge. The population of the whole state is less than the Austin, Texas metro area. There are too many obstacles to overcome to have a profitable football team.
