Mich and Iowa are pretty even in that department. Remember that Mich was 5-7 to Iowa's 7-5 in the regular season last year, and that Iowa had several narrow losses (ISU, Wis, Neb) while we were kinda fortunate to even win 5. Iowa had a functional team last year; we manifestly did not.

What hurts Harbaugh a bit is that everyone assumed he'd make Michigan better, so there isn't as much surprise. Conversely, Ferentz was thought to be a lost cause.

Ken Niumatalolo deserves every bit of consideration as Harbaugh.

USNA is not a team you want to be playing (especially if you value your linemans' knees).
