Summary:

On Brad Hawkins being a top tackler so far and what he's done:  He's been great tackling, geting to the ball, playing with great effort. Safety play has been a real strength for us. He, Mettellus and Woods have been great.

On How they have improved in the last week: Made some gains, still improving healthwise and otherwise.

Anybody who's been out that's definitely back? Not sure.

On Zordich's performance since he's been here: Every year Mike's developed that position really well - developing pro players like Lewis, Stribling. It's been very successful - Long as well - now  Lavert, Vince Grey and Ambry Thomas on that track. Those guys don't get much help and have to wear the big sombrero (?) down to down.

On Bredeson's development: Great guy, mature beyond his year. Great family that's very close with him. He played right away, played a lot of games. He's really dedicated. Plus Plus Plus at everything.

On Wisconsin's first two games:  Good play on both sides of the ball, very efficient in all areas.

What chasing a B1G Title means to the program:  The challenge of this game is big. This is 4th time coaching vs UW and they're good every year, talented and veteran team, playing at Camp Randall is a tough task. Big game for us

Where does he expect to see biggest improvement from Shea: Everybody on that side of the ball needs to be more efficient, playing with cohesion, ball security and take advantage of big plays that are there. Consistently moving the ball - been a lot of first down which is positive, need to eliminate the turnovers.

Is an RPO offensive like Michigan's as equipped to handle a physical smash-mouth team? Is it a good counter to that style?  Games are still won up front in the lines on Offense and Defense, getting stops on defense, and kicking game going smoothly.

What can you do to fix fumbles? Do ball security drills daily.

Not seeing fumbles in practice so what else do you do?  More drills - scout team coached to rip it out in 11 on 11 and 7 on 7, made a big emphasis.

If Runyan returns, is Ryan pushing at both tackles spots? Yep competition going on there.

Thoughts on being underdog in the game?  It's irrelvant.

Anything you're excited to learn from team in going on road for a big game? Yeah what kind of road team we are.

On Ambry's diagnosis this summer:  Didn't know when he'd get back this season, so had to trust the doctors and what they said. Ambry's attitude really stood out, his positive attitude, attention to detail to everything the doctors had him doing - rest, diet, fluids, - really mature attitude and positive attitude all led to success from my non-medical training perspective.

On Jonathan Taylor: He's really good - elusive, powerful, sees holes, blocks well, Not realistic to stop him but contain him, get stops and get the ball back to the offense.

Kicking rotation to continue? No decision

On Coan:  He's playing well, remember him from recruiting him, had him on campus, good athlete, throws ball well - started off the season well. impressive.

To be totally honest I could care less about how ready the team is for Wisconsin after finding out that Taco Bell took the double decker taco off their menu. What kind of psychopath is running that shit show? How in the hell can you not make, and sell me a double decker taco?

Do you have taco shells and soft tortillas? do you have meat? do you have lettuce? do you have cheese? do you have beans? Then you can make a goddamn double decker taco! I'm losing my freaking mind over here!

I agree-great summary.

I know JH is about concise answers... Quick question, how long was the PC - 5-7 minutes?  Read the summary in about 2.  I know the reporters can take forever to get to the question...gotta be kinda fun to be there, it must go fast!

This was a shorter one for sure and Harbaugh seems to give more of the “that’s a dumb question so ill give your the shortest, least helpful answer” during the season, especially during weeks where the team is being criticized in the media. He seems to be more effusive and verbose in the pre-season and after big wins, but he’s also always gonna Harbaugh a few questions.

I re-watched the Army game last night because I like to be punished.  Didn't realize we only had 4 possessions in the 2nd half.  I am sure this has been discussed in other posts but that actually made me feel better about the future.

What is the average number of possession a team typically gets in a half?

Seems like we tried to out-Army Army in the 2nd half and the style of play was not complete in-game incompetence but instead game planning incompetence.  Not sure why this makes me feel better but it did.

Yeah, it was just a really weird game and I think too many people are drawing conclusions about the style of our offense based on it. We moved the ball pretty well in the first half, but fumbled on three drives and missed a field goal on a fourth. We scored a touchdown on our only other drive. Then the coaches panicked and we went all caveman. Our QB was hurt, we had fumbleitis, and it was a really weird game with only nine offensive possessions. I'm thinking outlier, but I guess it's possible that I'm wrong.

I'm thinking outlier, as well.  Also, the second half of the MTSU game feels like a big experiment with 2 QB's, and some other weird plays, that we haven't seen again.  I just feel like we haven't really seen the offense they've worked all summer to install, except in bit parts, because of weird game circumstances.  From the bits we have seen, an average Shea game should be enough to beat UW - provided the defense holds it's part together, of course.
