Happy MGoBlackFriday FauxPOSBang!

Points don't work but wth it's Friday...Black Friday that is.  Any of you actually standing in line for stuff?  Read a few articles that suggest BF might be tapering down in popularity or people are just staying home and doing this online?

As you sip your coffee in the comfort of your home here is what you're avoiding today....

Not avoiding the mall, unfortunately. Family is in from Iowa and they want to hit the shops. Plus we have reservations to eat at 3:00 (right in the middle of the game today, ugh).

Just wanting to fast forward 24 hours to be in an Ann Arbor parking lot to tailgate and prep for witnessing an impending Michigan victory.

We're having a Friendsgiving today. 35 people coming over. I may overdose on Xanax before the day is over. I'm sure Hatter could recommend something else if that doesn't do the trick.

I walked into Dunham's at 5:15 (they opened at five and my commute has me driving past there before six on a normal day).... I was the only non-employee in the place.   I said, "where's the black friday rush?"   The manager said, "your it".

I think they were disappointed for having to be at work at such a stupid hour and no shoppers showed up.  Worked great for me, I got the three screamin' deals I was after and was out of there in like 7 minutes.

I'm in line for Dicky V's book. I'm interested in the chapter that explains how one of the four on the mount Rushmore of coaching gets out coached consecutive years by the same school but two different coaches. I'm imagine it will somehow lead to a discussion of the Norte Dame fight song.

It was incredible how Roy sensed the team needed a timeout when they were only 24 points behind. Whatever he is doing now, it’s not coaching. I’d call it taking advantage of UNC’s massive recruiting edge while mailing it in on game day. I knew it was going to be an UNC/Roy Williams slurp-fest when I saw Vitale sitting next to Roy during our Wednesday game. And then we were up by double digits over the #6 team in the nation and the announcers told us that Michigan was going to be in the first division of the Big 10. Oh really, top 7 in the conference? Whew. Because after seeing us dismantle UNC I wasn’t sure about our chances against RUTGERS! The whole game was told from a UNC frame of reference as if it was their radio team doing the game. UNC missing shots? Must be that THEY don’t have shooters. It couldn’t have anything to do with US having three all-big 10 caliber defenders. Fuck UNC, fuck ESPN, fuck Vitale.

I am sitting in the family room enjoying a nice cup of tea for now. We have one thing to pick up - a terrarium for our second bearded dragon - at PetSmart later this morning, but that's it. The rest of the shopping is done online exclusively.

My mother is probably wandering Briarwood by now - 75 years old and still a huge Black Friday fan.

No way in hell you're getting me into a shopping center on this day!  Big crowds of people are not for me, especially when they get rude and ugly.  Besides, my wife handles the shopping online - I just pay for it.  Win-win, she gets to shop and buy things, and I don't have to!

Time to watch the DVR'd second half of the UNC beatdown.  Family duties called yesterday, got back home and in bed at 4:30 this morning.  Gonna be a slow day...

I'm doing some shopping later, but for now I'm letting the wife and daughter sleep in and having a nerf gun and lightsaber battle with little Hatter. Although that will probably wake them up.

Also there's a James Bond marathon on one of the movie channels today. Which I seem to have all of this weekend.

I watched Citizen Kane last night. I figured 79 years was long enough to wait. Imagine my surprise to see Orson Welles clapping maniacally. I blurted out, “That’s the clapping gif from MGoBlog!” What a discovery. My mom looked at me like I was crazy.

{spoiler alert} Rosebud is his sleigh!

Traditionally, Black Friday hasn't held much appeal for me, for two reasons: 1) I don't like upgrading stuff (phones, televisions, cars) if what I currently have still works just fine, and 2) I'm usually still digesting Thanksgiving dinner.

Better to spend the day at home decorating and watching college football. You never know what you might see!

Never do Black Friday.  There’s a 97% chance you can get what you want/need online and for a better price.

Better to sit at home, drink, smoke a bowl, and watch football

Happy Thanksgiving! Still can’t fathom the idea Christmas is less than 4 weeks away. Not shopping today. We are visiting our son in Pasadena, CA. We’ll do almost all our shopping for kids/grandkids online. Wife doesn’t like doing it as she thinks it takes away from fun/spirit of Christmas. I think she’s nuts!

So much looking forward to the game tomorrow! Go Blue!

Avoiding humanity as I come down gracefully from my turkey-and-sides food coma. Some online shopping, just messing around. To hell with the malls.

That deserves a bang!
