Happy Easter MGOBLOG
Happy Easter to my Christian Brothers here on MGOBLOG! Christ has Risen! What is everyones plans today? Any Easter traditions to share with the board?I hope you all have a great day worshipping our Lord. We are all just beggars in the presence of our King. The Tomb is empty and because of that your sins are forgiven, what a Glorious Day! I hear the weather is going to be nice in SE Michigan today, so get out and enjoy! For non Christians I hope you have a good day and just remember there is a seat at the table waiting for you, just come on in. God Bless all of you and I am praying for each and everyone of you!
Holy shit, Eli. We get the point.
Glad to hear, my man!
Speaking of tombs, today also happens to be the Qingming (pronounced Chingming) holiday for Chinese people, aka Tomb Sweeping Day. After my mom finishes her easter service on zoom, we will go to the cemetery and visit her late husband, parents and nephew, lay some wreaths/flowers and tidy up. Maybe we’ll run into some of our other relatives, which would be nice.
Have a great holiday, everyone
And remember... if you don’t sin, Jesus gave his weekend for nothing
Historically, we have a man that was tortured for many hours. His skin ripped from his body and then crucified. The whole process was designed to break him and try to get him renounce his love for his fellow man.
Numerous eyewitnesses said he held true to his belief and forgave his oppressors just before he died. The man had an iron will and could not be broken. We know this with the same certainty that we know there was a Julius Caesar or Alexander the Great.
Love one another. Tell the truth with love. Do not be afraid. Do not put your light under a bushel basket. Somehow, I don't think he gave his weekend for nothing.
Is your point about Julius Caesar really true? For Caesar don’t we have writings from Caesar himself and writings from people while he was alive as well as contemporaneous, coins, statues etc.?.
For Jesus, aren’t all of the writings after the fact? It is much easier to find scholars who argue Jesus was not real than it is Julius Caesar.
To be clear, I am not arguing about whether or not he was real, merely that the evidence he was real is as good as the evidence that Julius Caesar was real. It seems hard to square that with the evidence that actually exists.
I have to be honest......I opened this thread expecting to see a much different dialogue than is displayed, and it is quite refreshing. My wife and kids just got back from attending our first church service in more than a year because of the pandemic. It reminded me of how much I missed it.
Enjoy the day everyone, and God bless.
Happy Easter to everyone. It was a sunny day here in SE Michigan and life is very good.
Today we remembered Jesus. Tomorrow, can we take a moment for all the 5-17 year old kids named Judas back then? Now that is a rough Monday at school.
