He will be a great commit. I think he might be able to help with instate recruiting a bit, too. I wonder what his social network is like? It seems like the elite athletes not only know each other, but have a bond that non-elite athletes can't fully understand.

Is this a scoop like Herbstreit's Les Miles to Michigan scoop? Maybe the News is trying to scare Gardner back towards State? And no, I don't like that "as long as he made the decision himself" quote. Conspiracy theorists???

I'm guessing since Tressel didn't even bother to offer Gardner a scholarship that he probably doesn't care all that much that he committed to Michigan, especially if he ends up landing Joe Montana's kid. As for Dantonio, well, I'm sure he's a bit dissappointed right now that he couldn't sell Gardner on MSU.

The whole thing kinda pisses on Dantonio's whole "We rule in-state recruiting now" fire. Until some would-be Tulsa steals him away from us, of course...

As a DC alum, gotta love this quote at the end of the article: Gardner also starts on the basketball team, which will play Dearborn Heights Robichaud in a Class B district final Friday at 7 p.m. at Dearborn Divine Child. "at Dearborn Divine Child" should be followed with "at Dearborn Heights Crestwood" since DC doesn't have their own football field and plays across the road at Crestwood's field. Sort of one of those "Detroit-Redford Catholic Central of Novi"-type things, I guess.
