G Chris Allen kicked off of MSU basketball team
Maybe they'll make room for his at Ole Miss...
After nearly leaving his team for the Cavs, Izzo had to do something to get the respect of his players back.
What's going on over there? Players realize Izzo was gone if The King stayed in Cleveland?
First of all I have no idea what type of kid Chris Allen is, what background he comes from, or any details on why he was kicked off the team. That said, I find it very interesting that the only player who is not from the midwest on the entire MSU team is the one who is the supposed lazy, prima donna. Whether you hate him or not, everyone can agree that Izzo is a great coach who emphasizes toughness, defense, and hard work, and that the players who buy in can see through his intensity and see a coach who loves his players. It appears the midwestern stereotype of gritty, hardworking players played out in this one case. Do you think this a coincidence, or does the midwest's blue-collar background truly produce a player more capable of playing under a coach like Izzo?

I am pretty sure region has nothing to do with this; and I had not heard anyone suggest Allen is any of those things mentioned.
It does not look good for Izzo to kick a senior off the team, who apparently did not commit any specific violation. Transfer rules are brutal for basketball and even more difficult academically for a senior to transfer his credits. I feel for Allen.
there were rumors of him transferring a few months back.

This is a very big loss for MSU. He was their best returning defender...

If I recall correctly there were unsubstantiated rumors about Allen and Summers having some sort of a conflict involving a girlfriend. I know that this will probably never be confirmed even if it was true, but perhaps this had something to do with it. I might have just made that up, but I think I remember hearing something like that a few months ago. One final disclaimer, this might not be true.

You sure you aren't thinking of Lebron's mom. Wait maybe that was another guy? Was it Izzo? Honestly though I do remember hearing the same thing during the season. No way of confirming it though.

That's the rumor I heard as well.

It's true.

Unless there is some substantial evidence, it is best not to keep repeating rumors.
We have no idea what happened and we should just leave it at that.
EDIT- this is in response to BlueInTheFace's comment

I would delete the post if I could. I was just curious if that was actually true or not, but as mentioned above, we will probably never find out. My appolgies for bringing it up. We definitely know that it will be a loss for MSU especially on the defensive end*.
Edit: *As you mentioned above.

...it's a pretty grown-up parting considering that it seems to have been unilateral. Best of luck to both, I say.
