Not much of a thread (not much of a game?!?)... But in case anybody wanted to get their DVR's rolling.

I am very impressed that anyone could re-watch a game as painful as that.  I feel bad Brian has to re-watch it in incredible detail.

My son, who is all of 4 years old, is a fan of the 1970s BBC sitcom "The Good Life", as odd as this sounds. Funny, funny show, so I think we'll throw in those DVDs instead. I need to laugh right now anyway.

well i was going to walk around my apartment barefoot after covering the floor with nails, thumbtacks, and angry porcupines, but this sounds like a much better plan

I was at a wedding on Saturday and only caught the last 10 minutes at a sports bar before the reception. So I feel like I need to watch to feel the full pain I would have felt if I watched the whole thing.

And the Spartan Stadium replays were so bad, that I wanted to see them for myself.

One thing I now see is that after Gholston's neck-twist on Denard, Denard got up and moving his head like his neck was indeed hurt on the play.  At that moment I was watching, and yelling at, Dantonio.  Who was protesting the personal foul call!

I really want to see the Marcus Rush personal foul on Denard; it might be interesting to suggest his suspension to the Conference along with a Gholston suspension for Wisconsin.

This is a super-fast edited version of the game, btw, so it is all game without a lot of Urban Meyer and Spielman and other annoying chatter.

When I see Spartan acquaintances in the weeks and months to come, and they gripe about how "Michigan" may have gotten Gholston suspended for their big game against UW, I want to be able to say that I saw it live and then saw it again later on tape, several times.

Heck there are other threads just posted this evening, in which people were asking about edited packages of the Spartan personal fouls:

I turned in on to see Gholston twist  Denard's head.  One poster stated that the helmet twisted around Denard's head.  The replay clearly showed that Denard's neck was twisted like a pretzel.  In the next play,  Rush  is shown twisting Denard's head  again after the sack.  Rush latter drove Denard' head into the ground for another personal foul. This appeared to be a direction from the coaches to knock out Robinson at any opportunity, including dirty play.

The next drive MSU scored, but during that drive was the lateral ... not called --- but the Michigan players failed to continue on with the play.  Bad call,  bad reaction.  There were numerous opportunities for UM  to win that game.  I deleted the recording ... and I do not want to see that game ever again.

Gholston and somebody (Rush?) tackle Denard together.  While on the ground, with Denard wrapped up, Gholston rolls over him to twist his body.  Its one of those vague, thug attempts to hurt a guy without it looking like it.

Gholston is so ghetto.  I can't remember the last B1G player I saw that was so ghetto.  I see a fair number of guys like Gholston on sentencing days in Circuit Court.

Kid played in the Detroit PSL, dirtiest, life-threatening enviornment of football and that's how the piece of trash is. The conference that the high school I went to banned all out of conference scheduling from it's member schools with the PSL because of incidents that happened I remember reading. Cass Tech is a different story. They're actually civilized there (it's a school for DPS honor students) plus look who the coach there is, Thomas Wilcher.

I don't mind using loaded words; I just like to be careful.

When I say "ghetto," I mean undisciplined, dumb, dirty football.  And -- this is critical for me -- a kind of a mens rea on the part of the ghetto player.  Somebody who's playing dirty, knows it, and is trying to hide it like a punk.

And that definition fits Gholston perfectly last Saturday.

It's not about race, or even about the Detroit PSL, which has produced some the the greatest stars in the Michigan football galaxy.  Now, I'd like to see Marcus Rush, from an upper middle class background at Cincinnati Moeller, suspended just like Gholston.  And of course the antithesis of "ghetto" just happens to be Denard Robinson, whose background may be as or more underprivileged than Gholston's.

As for Detroit Southeastern, ("MSU Jr.") with any luck the Detroit Public School system will just close down the Jungaleers and those good kids can go to another school with a more open football staff.

We need to work on a campaign to get Marcus Rush suspended along with Gholston.  It was a personal foul with the intent to injure.  A sadly successful intent to injure.
