Bell’s Two Hearted at the Lansing Courtyard Marriott. The noon kick required a Friday evening start to the weekend festivities.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C921 followed by a dram of Bomberger’s 2021.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
Much wow
October 29th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
This year's Bomb's is really good huh? It's still hard to beat ECBP even if some of the recent releases were not up to prior achievement!
October 29th, 2021 at 10:30 PM ^
No jinx, but a pre-celebratory drink boys!!!!
Dude, no lie, Elijah Craig BP is by far the best value in the whiskey world. The “C” Batch the last three years drink like $150+ bottles. Bomberger’s is solid, but the ECBP beats it handily.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:41 PM ^
Just cracked a C921 the other day.
Definitely different than the other ECBP bottles. Sweeter and more vanilla notes. Really enjoy them all ?.
Enjoying a pour of Weller Antique 107 right now.
Go Blue ???

The fluid dram (or fluid drachm in British spelling[14]) is defined as 1⁄8 of a fluid ounce which wouldn’t seem useful in pregaming unless you’re a total lightweight

Yep, I am still enjoying the ones from 2011 (they taste like Sugar).

Early Spring Aged Balsamic Vinegar Recipe:
Rhonda Jones is responsible for some balsamic vinegar aged between March and April. It is my personal favorite of mine from when I was looking miserable for dinner tomorrow instead of making sure I was actually pretty reasonable. Brewing balsamic in early spring is a great opportunity to make changes to your favorite thing or something like that. Now be forwarned because my balsamic will not make a difference when choosing the next members of parliament in the rotation for Christmas.
The first step is to make a decision about what happened yesterday when you don't think you can dance with a human. Step two is that of a monkey and some plywood and your grandma. Before venturing to step sevenine you don't wanna watch football in a convenient resealable bag of chips or anything unless otherwise stated on Facebook but I'm pretty reasonable in that. Now cooking balsamic will not only make sure the first person characterized as helpful has been twitching for a couple more hours everyday people. Remember that. Once you've probably aged between March and April in the oven for about a month anniversary and then put together a good sprinkle of those crumbles, you're obviously gonna get pretty excited to see the results for this project.
Bitter is what you want for this season. Don't forget the plastic containers of knowledge that are presented in this journey of discovery. You might like to add some bergamot to the roasted red potatoes for a while longer than expected in the bathroom or anything else I think of. let me know how it turns out and do not be afraid to say it was awesome aesthetically to see if you want. Turkish government is the only thing worse than depression and Lauren Conrad. Happy Birthday! Rhonda Jones will probably get pissed if you need help building a new dehumidifier! Discuss!

So, you're eating shrooms? Maybe too much?

ginger booch and soda water in my maize cup with a "Suffer The Rave" sticker emblazoned on it. Cheers.

Bud Select. I'm white trash or something. I dunno. I like it. Also I'm on call so I can have a couple of these and still go fix shit if I need to.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:10 PM ^
I was unaware they still made Bud Select. I thought I was hot shit when I would play beer pong with Bud Select in high school. I was too good for that Natty, except for the other 95% of my high school years.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:33 PM ^
I switched to it, from Budweiser, to cut down on carbs. Don't worry about carbs anymore but I still like the beer and it doesn't give me the headaches that Budweiser does. Man I'm old.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:45 PM ^
Bud Select is the only Bud product I'd pay for. I'll drink a Bud or Bud Light, if someone's buyin'. Otherwise, it's headache city so I stay away. I do like the Select though.

Guess Spartan Tears was taken so what I'm actually drinking is a Bulleit rye old fashioned to be followed by a Manhattan.

Found a Blanton's near the airport in Atlanta I just cracked. Some of the most hood liquor stores have diamonds in the rough, no matter your thought on the aformentioned.

A white monster
Idk what the actual flavor is
Getting ready to knock this 8 hr shift out, go home take a quick 3 hour power nap and then get up for the game.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:09 PM ^
Hats off to those who have to do shift work. I did it early in my career and it was not easy. Worked midnight shift both before and after the Colorado debacle in ‘96. My employees plastered my office with sports pages that showed the disaster.
Here’s to your hard work being much more richly rewarded!
October 29th, 2021 at 11:31 PM ^
I mean to be fair, what I do can barely be considered work and I get paid extremely well for it.
It's good being in a union
October 29th, 2021 at 11:49 PM ^
Fair enough. Still not easy, I think. I raise my drink to a fast shift for you tonight!
October 29th, 2021 at 11:50 PM ^
I worked the produce load shift for 2.5 years in a big grocery store. 2a - 10:30a. Never again, and the only reason I stayed with it was the shift differential. We (two load guys) were making almost as much as the meat cutters, who were the only union workers in the store.
The biggest fallacy of overnight work is "you'll have the whole day for yourself when you're done". Nope, all I wanted to do was sleep, and I hardly ever could.

high school football playoffs started tonight. we won, but unfortunately lost our starting center who is also a DT, so the win was costly.
barn chores done late. splash of red pop in a cup.
took our corn off last night, so that major task is out of the way.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:12 PM ^
Good luck with the playoffs next week.
Exciting time of the year for high school football ?.
My sprinkler system guy was here today and all he could talk about was his son's football game tonight.

Maker’s Mark Stave Profile No. 46. Somebody absconded with my bottle of Woodson’s Bourbon Whiskey at the last tailgate. Oh well. Win some, lose some.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:08 PM ^
Have a couple different bottles of Maker's Private Select in stock. Pretty good juice if you like the wheaters.
Both were store picks and exceptionally good ?.
October 30th, 2021 at 12:31 AM ^
I will have to try it. The Stave Profile 46 was good, but Old Forrester 1910 is still my favorite. Recommended by several on this blog.

Drinking some Able (Minneapolis) Super Giant. Excited for manana
October 29th, 2021 at 11:03 PM ^
Well Saturday night will have to have a drunken thread. Either drinking a lot in celebrating being 8-0 or drinking our sorrows after losing to sparty.. I'm hoping for the former.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:04 PM ^
Slow night. No going out to my local spot, no booze. Just a quiet night at home, drinking the blood of my enemies.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:07 PM ^
Fighting water in the basement, so eschewing the normal seltzer for a few Labatt lights.....
It would be nice if it didn't rain for 24+ hours straight twice in a week, but hey, beer.....

Me and Eastside Maize Jr. just got back from his cousins birthday party, I’m pink lemonade wasted.

Dragon's Milk White tonight, left over from last weekend's backpacking excursion. Celebrating our local HS football team winning their first round playoff game, per usual. Rainy, breezy night, but it's to be expected this time of year. Field was too wet and muddy for the band to do their halftime marching, but the visiting team brought their pep band and the schools had a friendly drumline competition during the intermission. Great battle and respect for one another between the bands was really nice to see. Tomorrow's bands apparently also have a cooperative performance planned, which of course TV won't show.
Getting ready to take the better half camping again for a few days after tomorrow's game, but may wait until Sunday depending on the weather and how much prep we get done before noon. This retirement gig hasn't gotten old yet, and we're trying to get all the kinks worked out on the new-to-us fifth wheel before we put her away for the winter (the camper, not the wife!). I love the few state park campgrounds that stay open into November, and are at 5% of capacity during the week!
Go Blue!
