Wake Forest beats a Virginia team that destroyed Illinois. College football is funny!

And Syracuse just beat Liberty, after losing to Rutgers ??♂️
Hopefully the team is ready to take Rutgers seriously tomorrow!

How good would Wake Forest be with that RB tearing it up for MSU?
September 25th, 2021 at 12:06 AM ^
Transfer portal like a waiver pick. MSU scored big this year from the portal

Wake looked like a very well coached ball club, seemed like a lot of buy in there just watching the players body language, sort of like a poor man’s Michigan. I know UVA’s d wasn’t good but the RB’s for Wake looked for real and ran with great patience and drive their feet well at contact too, almost like Mike Hart was their coach, haha. Not sure they are missing Kareem too much as they looked to have a good stable of backs, and I bet Kareem wanted to be “the guy”.

Minor point, but Kenneth, not Kareem. Kareem Walker played here, then transferred to several other schools.

Big Play for UNLV. How the heck Fresno St beat UCLA
September 25th, 2021 at 12:32 AM ^
Ain’t no way Fresno ends up losing this game. Too much talent. Some defensive breakdowns just make me think focus wasn’t there for all the players or coaching staff this week.
and as I post Fresno takes their first lead

I wouldn't mind having Fresno St. passing game. I'll keep our running game, thank you.
PS I'll keep our OL for pass pro too
September 25th, 2021 at 12:28 AM ^
Right on. Haener has an NFL arm and some legit NFL receivers, too

Nice play designs. Got WRs one on one. And nice throws.
September 25th, 2021 at 1:49 AM ^
Dang, who was behind that recruiting??
September 25th, 2021 at 9:50 AM ^
I didn't get it. What did you mean?
September 25th, 2021 at 12:29 AM ^
Very important question: if UNLV’s Larry “Grandmama” Johnson played college football today, what position would he play?
September 25th, 2021 at 12:44 AM ^
6'6" 250 seems like either Edge or TE. I remember him having explosive dunks, but honestly don't remember how athletic he was and if he was a drive and dunk or be fed and dunk kinda guy. Essentially, my opinion is 100% based on vague memories of dunks, Space Jam, and the awesome Charlotte Hornets starter jackets.
September 25th, 2021 at 12:54 AM ^
If I had to pick one.... EDGE!! He would have been an absolute monster.
September 25th, 2021 at 12:55 AM ^
I definitely had one of those sweet starter jackets ?
I’m definitely thinking edge DE too. Also was super young back then but seemed so violent and aggressive so seems like talent for that smash-the-QB role
September 25th, 2021 at 7:35 AM ^
I don't recall him doing a lot of ball handling, so I'd say he was a 'fed and dunk' type. But he was a fucking monster inside the paint! He would be one hell of and edge today. As large as a TE can star in an offense blocking, his mentality would've been wasted on offense.

Truth

Harvard beat Brown on ESPNU Tonight 49-17. Mostly irrelevant to this audience except for one thread: Harvard Coach Tim Murphy was a Harbaugh mentor, serving as Cincinnati head coach with John Harbaugh as assistant. Have a look at the counter in the first offensive play in these highlights and see if it looks familiar.

LOL!!! That counter... It's identical to what JH has UM running this year. BTW - nice job with the history lesson perusing the Wayback Machine to find this coaching gem!

UNLV got away with offensive PI.

I took your advice, OP, and didn’t look
At any of it

Thanks, those are super fun throwback highlights! That counter is just a great play.

Loved hearing about Christian Turner and Luigi Villain being Michigan transfers every time they were out there. I’d say it could be a new drinking game but you’d be toasted within 5 minutes.

Can anyone answer why Fresno went for two in the second quarter to try and make it 14-11? They ended up chasing points all night long, going 0/3 on two-point conversions.
